Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms we have today despite it being around a decade since it was launched despite receiving stiff competition from other platforms of its ilk.

Like any other platform, the makers always upgrade things when the need calls for it and now they have introduced changes in Instagram so that users are enabled to inform it about the posts recommended to them.

In Brief

The makers want to improve on the algorithm that is serving users with customized content based solely on their activity on the platform so that it will make it easy for all users to learn more about the service so as to recognize posts they’ve no interest in seeing.

Instagram wants to make sure that users will be able to select multiple posts in the Explore tab, and inform the makers that they are totally uninterested in seeing any of the posts.

Now the posts that you don’t want to see at all can be put on ‘Snooze’ for a month at a time where you need to go to the top right corner and tap ‘X’ and select ‘Snooze’ and once done, you won’t see anything about the post for a full 30/31 days.

Apart from that, users will now be able to filter out posts from unknown people that contain specific emojis and hashtags, which’ll prevent them from showing up in their feed and therefore, not learn anything about it.
