People watching the tech space keenly would’ve seen Xiaomi launching its Xiaomi 14 series in China last month.
They were the first phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
However, the dust hasn’t even settled on the announcement and the rumour mill is already in action about the Xiaomi 15 series.
The latest leaks about the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro smartphones, as reported by Digital Chat Station, reveal some promising features, especially about the handsets’ display.
The standard Xiaomi 15 is expected to retain a 6.36-inch OLED display, similar in size to its predecessors, the Xiaomi 13 and 14.
This display will reportedly have a 120Hz refresh rate and offer a peak brightness of 1400 nits, featuring power-saving LTPO technology that could potentially save 15-20% of battery life.
Additionally, CSOT OLED panels, privy to several of Xiaomi’s flagship devices in the past, will likely continue on the Xiaomi 15 series.
In contrast, the more higher-end Xiaomi 15 Pro is rumoured to feature a 2K resolution display with significantly thinner bezels than the Xiaomi 14 Pro, reducing from 0.9mm to 0.6mm.
Both the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro models are more than likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, continuing Xiaomi’s trend of packing in the latest Qualcomm chipsets in their smartphones.
For photography, there are rumours that the series may boast a triple rear camera setup with a 108 MP primary sensor.
At least one of the phones is anticipated to have a 5500 mAh battery and support fast charging.
It might offer 512 GB of non-expandable storage, dual SIM support, and various connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C.
These details, while promising, are based on early leaks and should be treated with a degree of caution until confirmed by Xiaomi.
The launch of these models will of course be anticipated but more leaks are likely to arise given how far the Xiaomi 15 series unveiling actually is.
