OnePlus Ace 7 Series Cooling Fan Design Revealed: Dual Airflow to Keep Hands Cool

Highlights

  • The OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro will feature a new dual-airflow active cooling system designed to reduce heat and improve gaming comfort.
  • Both phones are expected to include a 185Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite series chipset, up to a 9,000mAh battery and a 200MP primary camera.
  • Pre-orders have started in China indicating that the OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro could launch soon, although exact launch date has not been announced.

OnePlus has revealed details about the active cooling system on its upcoming OnePlus Ace 7 series smartphones, the OnePlus Ace 7 and Ace 7 Pro. OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis recently explained that the new cooling design uses two airflow paths to manage heat during gaming. The smartphones are also tipped to feature 185Hz displays, Snapdragon 8 Elite series chipsets and batteries of up to 9,000mAh. Pre-orders for the series have already started in China, suggesting that its launch is approaching.

OnePlus Ace 7 Series Cooling Fan Design Explained

According to OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis’s recent Weibo post, the OnePlus Ace 7 series will feature an active cooling system designed to improve comfort during landscape gaming. The new design uses two airflow outlets with one directing air towards the chipset and the other towards the rear panel.

OnePlus says this dual-airflow arrangement is a first for the company. Rather than focusing only on reducing internal temperatures, the design also aims to make extended gaming sessions more comfortable. The main highlights of the cooling system include:

  • Dual airflow paths: One outlet directs airflow towards the chipset, while the other cools the rear panel.
  • Hot air directed away from fingers: The exhaust layout is designed to prevent hot air from blowing towards the user’s fingers during gameplay.
  • Cooling for the rear panel: Airflow over the back cover could help reduce heat buildup and the uncomfortable, sweaty feeling associated with prolonged gaming.
  • Better-placed air intake: The intake layout is designed to reduce the chances of fingers blocking airflow while holding the phone horizontally.

Li Jie explained that airflow placement can make a noticeable difference to the gaming experience. When fingers block the air intake, cooling efficiency can decrease. Similarly, hot exhaust directed towards the hands can make long gaming sessions uncomfortable.

The OnePlus Ace 7 series aims to address these issues through its airflow design rather than relying only on lower chipset temperatures.

OnePlus Ace 7 Series Design and Colours

The OnePlus Ace 7 series leaked images of the phones show two different colour finishes, one with an orange-and-white gradient and the other with a blue-and-white gradient.

Both devices appear to feature a squarish rear camera module in the top-left corner, similar to the design associated with the OnePlus 16. The leaked images also show what appear to be two air vents near the camera module along with large “ACE” branding on the rear panel.

Other visible elements include a configurable Snap Key on the side, volume buttons, a USB Type-C port and a bottom speaker grille. The front-facing cooling fan has also been suggested in reports, although its final placement and design details have not been fully confirmed.
