It appears Vivo Y05e could soon launch in India as a new affordable smartphone from Vivo. The company recently introduced the Vivo Y05 in the country with a large 6,500mAh battery and reports now suggest that another model in the Y05 series is currently in development.
Although Vivo has not officially revealed any details regarding the Vivo Y05e yet, the smartphone has now appeared on a certification platform ahead of its expected debut.
The Vivo Y05e has been listed on the TDRA certification database revealing both its model number and marketing name.
According to the listing that was first spotted by TheTechOutlook, the upcoming smartphone carries the model number “V2606”. The certification platform also confirms the official name as “Vivo Y05e”.
Apart from confirming the device name and model number, the TDRA database does not reveal any additional specifications of the smartphone. However, the listing strongly suggests that the Vivo Y05e could launch in the market soon.
Reports suggest that Vivo may launch the Vivo Y05e in the affordable sub-₹10,000 segment in India.
The smartphone is expected to be positioned below the Vivo Y05, which was introduced in India at a price of Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant.
It is also expected to be a 4G smartphone and the company could offer it with 3GB RAM. However, the complete specifications of the device are still unknown at the moment.
For reference, the Vivo Y05 runs is powered by the Unisoc T7225 octa-core processor built on a 12nm process and supports clock speeds of up to 1.8GHz. It sports a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels. The panel comes with a waterdrop notch design, 120Hz refresh rate, 260 PPI pixel density and up to 1200 nits peak brightness.
The device also features Extended RAM technology, allowing users to expand the available RAM to 8GB by combining 4GB physical RAM with 4GB virtual RAM. The smartphone packs a massive 6500mAh battery and supports 15W charging. As for cameras, Y05 includes an 8-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
In any case, more details regarding the Vivo Y05e are expected to surface online in the coming weeks ahead of its official launch.
