Amar Kaushik-directed Bhediya, which was expected to release on OTT a few days ago, is still nowhere to be seen online. For a long time, the internet was buzzing with reports regarding the unusual delay and then an expected OTT release date of the Varun Dhawan movie.

As per reports, Bhediya’s OTT release was supposed to happen on JioCinema on April 21st this year.

However, to fans’ utter dismay, the movie has still not been released on OTT and JioCinema hasn’t officially issued any statement regarding the same.

Since then, fans haven’t stopped expressing their disappointment and frustration with the scheme of events over the internet.

The reason why fans are extremely disappointed over the delay in the Bhediya OTT release is because generally, the movies release on OTT platforms within eight weeks of their theatrical releases. However, in the case of Bhediya, it’s been more than five months now since the movie’s theatrical release in November 2022. Fans have been constantly asking JioCinema about the delay and calling the platform out for not informing the viewers even until now about the unexpected delay.

Although, the movie didn’t perform quite well in terms of its box office collection yet it created much-awaited hype amongst Dhawan’s fans with respect to its OTT release as the fans want to watch the movies in the comfort of their home.

About Bhediya

Bhediya is a multi-starrer horror-comedy starring Dhawan in the title role. The horror comedy follows Bhaskar (Varun), who transforms into a werewolf after he is bitten by a mythical wolf.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film opened to positive to mixed reviews upon its theatrical release in November last year. Notably, despite of the fact that Bhediya did not perform well at the box office, the makers announced its sequel during a Jio event.

Apart from Bhediya 2, Stree 2 was also announced. To be precise, the announcement of the release date of Bhediya 2 in 2025 was made at an event of Jio Studios, called Infinite Together.

The movie was first released in theaters in November 2022 but failed to cross the coveted Rs 100 crore mark at the box office.
