Xiaomi appears poised for a year-end surprise with its latest offering, the Redmi 13C, whose model numbers have been leaked on the GSMA IMEI certification website.
The details, originally spotted by the team at Xiaomiui, point to a simultaneous international launch, a departure from the brand’s usual phased release.
The IMEI database provides three different model numbers for the upcoming Redmi 13C—23124RN87C, 23124RN87G, and 23124RN87I.
These suffixes ‘C’, ‘G‘, and ‘I’ are coded representations for Chinese, global, and Indian variants respectively.
It’s an exciting development as the listings indicate that the Redmi 13C may well be available in multiple markets simultaneously, possibly even before the much-anticipated Redmi Note 13 series hits the Indian market
Internally codenamed “Air” and identified as C3V, this device seems primed for a December 2023 debut.
Interestingly, the launch schedule may be altered for India, aligning more closely with historical trends for Xiaomi releases in the subcontinent.
Our exclusive renders reveal design continuity with its predecessor, the Redmi 12C.
The Redmi 13C will retain a waterdrop notch and offer relatively thin bezels.
A distinct camera island on the rear houses a triple camera setup, led by a 50MP primary rear sensor with AI support.
The device will be available in three distinct colours: Light Green, Black, and Blue.
While the top of the device stays minimalist with just a 3.5mm headphone jack, the lower edge features a USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and microphone.
The Redmi 12C debuted earlier this year in March, featuring a 4G variant of the Redmi Note 12.
As of now, it appears that Xiaomi might eschew the IR blaster in the upcoming model.
The Redmi 13C offers a blend of continued design aesthetics from its predecessors and new hardware capabilities, making it one to watch out for in Xiaomi’s late-year lineup.
The phone is expected to undergo more certifications in the coming weeks, which will undoubtedly shed more light on its specifications.
The IMEI database has listed three different model numbers for the Redmi 13C. The suffixes ‘C’, ‘G’, and ‘I’ in these model numbers indicate that the device will likely have versions for the Chinese, global, and Indian markets.
Internal codes and IMEI data suggest that the phone is expected to debut in December 2023. However, this timeline may vary for the Indian market.
Exclusive renders reveal a 50MP primary rear sensor as part of a triple-camera setup. AI support is also likely for enhanced photography.
Based on current information, the device may not include an IR blaster, unlike some of its predecessors.
