TikTok is launching a new feature called “Sound Search.”
This tool is similar to Shazam, but with a twist.
It lets users find songs by singing, humming, or playing them.
To use Sound Search, open the TikTok app and go to the Search Tab.
Tap the microphone icon to start the feature.
Then, you can sing, hum, or play the song you want to find.
When TikTok finds a match, it shows you the song.
It also displays popular videos that use that song.
This fits well with TikTok’s focus on video content.
Interestingly, Sound Search can do more than just find songs.
Tests show it can also identify popular TikTok sounds and memes.
For example, it recognized sounds from the TV show “Totally Spies” and user-created memes.
Right now, Sound Search is only available to a small group of TikTok users.
The company hasn’t said which regions have access to the feature yet.
This new feature puts TikTok in competition with Shazam, which is owned by Apple.
Shazam can’t identify hummed songs, but it can find songs playing in other apps like YouTube and Instagram.
To use Sound Search when it becomes available, make sure you have the latest version of TikTok installed on your device.
The app is free and works on iPhones and iPads with iOS 12 or later.
TikTok’s Sound Search aims to make finding and sharing music easier within the app.
It could change how users discover new songs and create content on the platform.
