Samsung has officially rolled out the One UI Watch 6 beta to users through the Samsung Members app, marking the arrival of the next generation of Wear OS and One UI Watch for the Galaxy Watch series.
However, there are a few limitations to this initial beta release.
Firstly, it’s currently available only for the Galaxy Watch 6 in the US and Korea, with Samsung noting that other Wear OS-based watches will receive the beta at a later point.
Additionally, LTE versions of the watch cannot download the beta for now.

The new One UI Watch 6 beta is based on Wear OS 5 and integrates some of Samsung’s recently introduced Galaxy AI features for Galaxy phones, tying in with the company’s revamped ecosystem.
This move follows Samsung’s announcement that a new version of One UI Watch would be coming to the Galaxy Watch series shortly after the unveiling of its Galaxy AI capabilities.
For Galaxy Watch 6 users who can access the beta, the process is straightforward: simply swipe through the feature cards in the Samsung Members app until you find the One Watch UI card and tap it.
After agreeing to the terms, users can explore the new changes and enhancements.
One significant addition is a more detailed sleep analysis and energy level tracking throughout the day, powered by Galaxy AI.
However, observing these features’ impact will take time.
A notable change is the introduction of a double pinch gesture for selecting certain features in the operating system.
This gesture, similar to the Universal Gestures feature in accessibility settings, is now integrated into the OS, allowing users to scroll through notifications, turn off alarms, and perform other actions with a simple double pinch.
A small finger icon on buttons within apps will indicate when this gesture can be used.
For those who still prefer to use Universal Gestures, there’s a significant improvement: recommended actions will now be automatically highlighted during certain situations, such as the answer button being highlighted when receiving a call.
Multitasking has also been improved, with a simple tap on the bottom of the watch face displaying all active apps running in the background, making it easier to adjust the most important ones quickly.
Notification settings can now be adjusted from the watch itself without the need for the Galaxy Wearable app, allowing users to control which apps send notifications to their watch directly.
Additionally, Galaxy Modes will now adjust more settings, including sleep and power settings, sounds, and alerts, providing a more comprehensive experience for users who frequently utilize Modes.
According to the changelog, the only feature affected by Galaxy AI seems to be fitness tracking, with Samsung Health’s new energy score providing personalized insights and motivation based on sleep and physical activity.
