Telegram is expanding its reach by developing a new app for Apple Vision Pro, tailored to the unique features of visionOS.
This development was revealed in a teaser by Telegram’s CEO, Pavel Durov, showcasing the app’s design and functionality.
The upcoming Telegram app for visionOS promises a user experience that aligns with the platform’s design principles.
One of the standout features is its translucent interface, giving users a sense of depth. The app departs from the traditional tab bar layout, instead opting for a sidebar for easy navigation to contacts, calls, chats, and settings.
This version of Telegram will retain all the familiar features from its iOS counterpart, including media sharing, audio messages, and the recently added Stories feature.
Moreover, users will enjoy an immersive video player and animated AR stickers that enhance the visual experience beyond the app’s window.
Interacting with the app will be convenient, with options for Siri dictation or using the system’s virtual keyboard for sending messages.
While specific details about the app’s release are still under wraps, its launch is expected to coincide with the Vision Pro’s arrival in US stores in early 2024.
Developers keen on exploring visionOS can download the SDK to create apps for Vision Pro, with some already having access to the new hardware for testing.
