Xiaomi has started teasing the Redmi Turbo 5’s arrival in India, making it the first Redmi Turbo series phone to launch in the country. The company is promoting the device on Amazon India and social media, highlighting its performance focus for young gamers and power users.
Until now, the Redmi Turbo series has been available only in China, where it became popular for offering high-end specs at competitive prices. With the Turbo 5, Xiaomi seems ready to bring the series to a global audience, starting with India.
Rebranded versions of the device were released in India under the Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max labels.
Xiaomi hasn’t shared the official specs and features for the Redmi Turbo 5 yet, but it’s expected to match the Chinese version.
The Chinese Redmi Turbo 5 features a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset built on a 4 nm process, with up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage. The Indian version, however, is expected to offer only up to 12 GB RAM.
The Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1268 x 2756, making it ideal for smooth scrolling, gaming, and video watching.
Xiaomi is also expected to add advanced cooling technology to help maintain stable gaming performance during heavy use.
The phone may come with Android 16 and HyperOS pre-installed. It could also offer AI-powered features, gaming improvements, stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and better connectivity options.
Teaser images online show the Redmi Turbo 5 may have a premium look with a flat-frame body, slim bezels, and a modern rear camera design. The teasers also suggest a bright colour option, hinting that Xiaomi is aiming for a younger audience with a bold style.
Reports say the phone may launch exclusively on Amazon India and Xiaomi’s official online stores. The teasers make it clear that Xiaomi is positioning the Turbo series as a performance-focused option in the premium mid-range market.
There’s no official launch date yet, but industry reports suggest the phone could arrive in the next few weeks.
In China, the Redmi Turbo 5 comes with a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor and OIS, plus an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The front camera is 20MP.
Battery life might be one of the Redmi Turbo 5’s main highlights. Reports say it could have a large battery and support ultra-fast charging, possibly over 90W.
The phone is expected to compete in India’s premium mid-range segment, with a starting price likely between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 35,000, depending on storage. After launch, it should be available on Amazon India, Mi.com, and in retail stores.
With the Redmi Turbo 5, Xiaomi is set to introduce its popular Turbo series to India, offering a mix of top performance, gaming features, fast charging, and competitive pricing.
The Redmi Turbo 5 will be the first Redmi Turbo series smartphone officially launched in India, bringing Xiaomi’s performance-focused Turbo branding to the country for the first time.
The smartphone is expected to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display, a flagship-grade MediaTek chipset, up to 12GB RAM, advanced cooling technology, and HyperOS based on Android 16.
Reports suggest the Redmi Turbo 5 could be priced between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 35,000 and may launch through Amazon India, Mi.com, and offline retail stores.
