POCO India is launching the POCO M6 5G this week.
Leading up to the launch the company has put out a teaser on its official X account hinting at a highly competitive price point.
The teaser suggests that the POCO M6 5G will debut in the Indian market with a price tag under Rs 10,000.
This pricing strategy positions the POCO M6 5G as potentially one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in India.
The teaser image indicates a price of around Rs 9,4XX, which is speculated to be the effective cost of the base variant of the POCO M6 5G, factoring in bank offers.
It is apparent that POCO’s consistent approach to offering budget-friendly yet feature-rich smartphones seems to continue with the M6 5G.
The company has confirmed that the launch is set for December 22.
In terms of availability, the POCO M6 5G will be sold exclusively on Flipkart.
This exclusivity aligns with POCO’s past strategy for its handset launches in India.
The smartphone will be available in two colour options: Orion Blue and Galactic Black, both part of the Premium Sky Dance Design aesthetic.
The POCO M6 5G, as seen in the teasers, boasts a stylish design with a water-drop notch for the selfie camera and a clean left side featuring only the SIM card tray.
The right side houses the power button and volume rockers.
A dual rear camera setup is expected, including a 50MP primary camera with AI support and an LED flash, enclosed in a large rectangular structure with prominent branding.
Leaks suggest that the POCO M6 5G might be a rebranded version of the Redmi 13C 5G.
Key specifications, based on MIUI code and the Redmi 13C 5G model, include a 6.74-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC, up to 8GB RAM (plus additional virtual RAM), and 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 1TB.
The device is expected to run on MIUI 14 based on Android 13 and feature a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.
