Zingbus raises funding from Venture Catalysts, Titan Capital, others

Intercity bus aggregator Zingbus has secured an undisclosed pre-Series A investment led by Venture Catalysts, Titan Capital, and Better Capital, along with Ritesh Agarwal (Founder – Oyo) and Anupam Mittal (Founder & CEO – People Group). The funding round also saw participation from 9Unicorns accelerator fund, AdvantEdge Founders, Smile Internet, MG Group, and several other marquee angel investors.

Co-founded in 2019 by IIT Kharagpur graduates Prashant Kumar and Mratunjay along with Ravi Kumar Verma, Zingbus aims to build India’s largest and most trusted consumer brand for intercity mobility. It currently enables 2,000+ daily journeys across Delhi/NCR, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Jammu, Haryana, and Punjab. The platform will utilize the funds to increase its operational footprint across the country and expand the scale of its fleet operations to 500 buses, with a view of fulfilling 1 million safe and hassle-free journeys in the next 12 months.

Taking insights from global players such as Flixbus, Zingbus plans to run 2,500 buses across all the country’s major travel corridors within the next three years. The platform is launching new services every week and shipping new products every fortnight. Even though the travel industry was severely impacted due to the pandemic, Zingbus has emerged as a clear winner that drove growth by enabling the traditional fleet owners struggling to cope with emerging operational challenges with minimum manpower investment.

Nothing raises $15 Million in series A funding round led by GV

Nothing, a new forward-thinking London based consumer technology company, announced today that it has raised $15 million in a Series A round led by GV (formerly Google Ventures).

With the new funding, the company plans to expand its team and operations, further invest in R&D, as well as launch its community and first products in the coming months.

Carl Pei, CEO and Co-founder of Nothing said, “We are grateful to have a venture capital firm of this caliber help in building Nothing together with us. We plan to aggressively grow the company, in particular our R&D and design capabilities, to realize our mission of removing barriers between people and technology.”

Tom Hulme, General Partner at GV said, “Carl Pei is a seasoned entrepreneur with marketing, hardware, and distribution experience that is key to bringing new devices to market. His vision for smart devices is compelling, and we have high confidence that with Carl’s global mindset, the Nothing team will have a meaningful impact on the market for consumer technology.”

The new round takes the total amount of financing Nothing has raised to over $22 million. Previous investors include notable tech leaders and investors such as Casey Neistat, Kevin Lin, Steve Huffman, Kunal Shah.

Nothing also plans to open up for its community and the general public to invest as part of its Series A round. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.

The launch of BattleXo also marks the coming together of a number of top names from the esporting fraternity from across different parts of the country. Some of the most popular YouTubers, gamers and streamers, including Badge99, Nonstop Gaming, Casual Gaming and Gamerfleet, among others, have been brought onboard by EsportsXO for the purpose. BattleXO will provide all logistical and automation related help to let other tournament organizers host as many tournaments as possible. Going forward, the platform may host its own tournaments as well.
