OPPO has expanded its A-series lineup in China with the launch of two new smartphones. The company has unveiled Oppo A6i 5G and Oppo A6 Pro 5G in China. Both models are now official in the company’s home market and come packed with modern features, large batteries, and durable designs. Here’s all about both the phones.
The Oppo A6i sports a 6.56-inch LCD display with 1604 x 720 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1000 nits peak brightness. The screen remains responsive even with wet, oily, or gloved hands.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset built on a 6nm process, paired with 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage. It supports 5G connectivity for smooth performance and multitasking.
On the software front, the phone runs ColorOS 15, optimised for long-term use with stability claimed for up to 48 months. The system also offers an AI assistant capable of handwriting recognition, math correction, and English tutoring, along with family tools like health tracking, fraud detection, and regional alerts.
In terms of optics, the A6i comes with a 50MP primary camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor, while the front houses an 8MP selfie camera. Camera features include AI-enhanced portrait mode, dual-view video, object removal, pixel-level zoom upscaling, and AI sticker overlays.
The device is powered by a massive 6000mAh battery, designed with graphite cells and electrolyte recovery tech for five years of durability. It supports 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, delivering 50% charge in 37 minutes, even in extreme conditions as low as –20°C. Battery backup promises up to 22 hours of calls or 19 hours of video playback.
Durability is another highlight, as the A6i is built with a Diamond Shield Frame using strengthened glass and high-strength aluminum alloy. It carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, has SGS 5-star drop resistance certification, measures 7.99mm thickness, and weighs 194 grams.
6GB + 128GB: 899 yuan (~$125)
8GB + 128GB: 999 yuan (~$139)
8GB + 256GB: 1,099 yuan (~$153)
The Oppo A6i will be sold in Cloud Mist White and Midnight Black colour options, with sales starting September 12 in China.
The more premium Oppo A6 Pro 5G features a 6.57-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1400 nits brightness, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 2160Hz PWM dimming for eye comfort.
Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, paired with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage.
A standout feature is its huge 7000mAh battery, which supports 80W fast charging. Despite the large battery, the phone is just 7.96mm thin and weighs 190 grams. It comes with a glass back, metallic frame, and MIL-STD-810H military durability certification. For added protection, the device carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings against dust and water.
For cameras, the A6 Pro has a 50MP + 2MP dual rear setup and a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
Additional features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, NFC, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, dual SIM support, and an IR blaster.
