Huawei has officially confirmed the launch of its next-generation Pura 90 series. According to the brand confirmation via its official Weibo handle, both the Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max are set to debut in China on April 20. The Chinese brand has also opened pre-reservations for both smartphones starting today in China. Ahead of the launch, we also have official renders out showing what the phones look like.
Ahead of the launch, Huawei has showcased the design of the upcoming Pura 90 Pro lineup. The new models appear to bring a bold visual refresh featuring a gradient finish across most colour options. There are obviously classic black and white colour variants for customers who might not like the idea of colour smartphones.
Huawei has previously experimented with gradient designs in older lineups like the P20 and P30 series and it seems the new Pura 90 series continues that trend with a modern touch.
On the rear, the devices sport a distinctive rounded triangular camera module paired with flat edges that give the phones a more structured appearance. While both the Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max share the same overall design language.
In terms of hardware, the Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max are expected to be powered by either the Kirin 9030 or the Kirin 9030 Pro chipset. The smartphones will likely run HarmonyOS 6.1 out of the box.
Huawei is also expected to introduce its HyperSpace Memory technology to the Pura 90 series. This feature is designed to enhance memory efficiency enabling a 16GB RAM configuration to deliver performance comparable to 20GB through advanced compression techniques.
Cameras are expected to remain a key highlight of the lineup. The Pura 90 series is tipped to feature a second-generation Maple Imaging System alongwith a high-resolution 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens aimed at improving long-range photography.
We can expect more details about the Huawei Pura 90 Pro and Pura 90 Pro Max to emerge in days leading up to the launch.
