Nothing Founder and CEO Carl Pei earlier confirmed that the Nothing Phone (3) would be the last model in the Phone (3) lineup. However, a new report now suggests otherwise. Nothing is reportedly planning to extend the series with a new addition called the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite. Here’s what we know so far.
Tech publisher Xpertpick, in an exclusive collaboration with tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore @Sudhanshu1414 on X (formerly Twitter), claims that the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite will make its debut later this year. The device is said to get a global release including availability in India.
While specific design details remain under wraps, the report reveals that the Phone (3a) Lite will come in Black and White colour options, following a design choice consistent with Nothing’s signature minimal aesthetic. It hasn’t been confirmed whether this model will feature the brand’s signature Glyph Interface lighting system, which has been a defining element of the Nothing Phone series.
As per the report, the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite will be offered in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Similar to previous Nothing smartphones, the device is unlikely to feature a microSD card slot, meaning users will have to rely solely on internal storage.
As of now, most hardware specifications including the chipset, display, and camera setup remain undisclosed. However, the “Lite” branding hints at a toned-down version of the Nothing Phone (3a) aimed at a more affordable price point.
The Nothing Phone (3a) was launched globally at $379 (around Rs. 31,500), while it is currently listed on Amazon for $399 (approx. Rs. 33,000). The Phone (3a) Lite is expected to be priced below the standard Phone (3a), positioning it as the most affordable model in the series so far.
Interestingly, Nothing’s sub-brand CMF already caters to the budget segment. The recently launched CMF Phone 2 Pro is priced at $279 and already occupies the affordable smartphone niche.
