Nothing, a London-based technology company, has announced that its latest smartphone, the CMF Phone 1, is manufactured in India.
This revelation comes on the heels of the device’s recent introduction to the market.
The choice to manufacture the CMF Phone 1 in India is consistent with Nothing’s approach to bolster the “Make in India” campaign.
It also indicates that the business views India as a crucial market for its aspirations for worldwide expansion.
This is not the first time Nothing has chosen India as a manufacturing base.
The company’s previous models, including the Phone (1), Phone (2), and Phone (2a), were also produced in Tamil Nadu.
Additionally, Nothing established its first global exclusive service centre in Bengaluru last year, further solidifying its commitment to the Indian market.
By manufacturing in India, Nothing aims to tap into the country’s robust manufacturing ecosystem.
This move is expected to contribute to the local economy, foster domestic technological innovation, and create job opportunities.
Nothing said in a statement, “This move exemplifies the dedication to delivering high-quality, locally-produced products that cater to the unique preferences and needs of the Indian market and their expertise in locally manufacturing such a unique adaptable design.”
The CMF Phone 1 is set to go on sale on July 12th at noon.
It will be available through various retail channels, including Flipkart, Croma, Vijay Sales, and other partners.
Consumers have two options to choose from: a 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model priced at Rs. 15,999, and an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant priced at Rs. 17,999.
However, first-day buyers can take advantage of special bank offers, which reduce the prices to Rs. 14,999 and Rs. 16,999 for the respective models.
Nothing’s choice to manufacture in India is indicative of a rising trend in which international IT companies are taking use of India’s manufacturing skills.
This tactic enables businesses to better service the sizable Indian market while simultaneously lowering expenses.
