NASA gears up for Satellite Mission, SunRISE in Tow

There are many space organizations in the world but NASA is head and shoulders above all, including ISRO, India’s main space agency and rightfully so since its American. It has many an accomplishment to its credit and is gearing up for a lot more.

The recent news report is that NASA is all set to launch its very first set of small satellites for a new mission dubbed ‘SunRISE’ that is ready to detect and track hazardous space weather events.

The scientists have shed a ton of blood, sweat and, of course, money, for this mission as they want to leave no stone unturned to make it a success where it has been reported that each satellite used in the Sunrise project will be used as an individual in a way that it acts to detect radio bursts that burst forth from heat waves that come from the Sun itself.

Needless to say, this mission has a lot riding on its shoulders where the scientists have much, or rather, everything to lose where everything can go wrong with the tiniest of errors or miscalculations.

Brief On

Sun Radio Interferometer Space Experiment (Sunrise) has massive ambitions and this program proves it as it plans to launch the largest radio telescope that is equipped to detect and track down explosive space weather events.

The makers are speculating a 2024 launch where you have the SunRISE that will be a radio telescope in the literal sense launched directly into orbit in a bid where scientists will learn more about space weather events and research further on how it can be used as a major breakthrough.

Whether the breakthrough will be for the benefit of mankind or some other global agenda, it is a huge mission where many things can go wrong what with a powerful combination of six toaster-size satellites that will observe the Sun in such a way that have not been possible on the surface of the earth.

The small satellites are called SmallSat that are well equipped with four telescoping antenna booms that extend to about ten feet to form an ‘X’ and will orbit the earth at about 36000km away and research about the virtual radio telescope.

The SmallSats will send out signals that will go straight to NASA’s Deep Space Network that scientists will use to create the radio telescope thereby enabling SunRISE to see the long wavelengths that are blocked by a small portion of the Earth’s upper atmosphere called ionosphere.
