Meta has been working on creating an ecosystem of all its apps for a more interconnected user experience. Recently, the company announced a new feature that will let users connect their WhatsApp accounts to their Accounts Center. Here’s everything you need to know about the new update.
This hub was introduced in 2020 and it allows users to manage their connected experiences across Facebook, Instagram and Meta Quest accounts.
With this integration, users will be able to do the following –
Adding WhatsApp to the Accounts Center is completely optional and turned off by default. Importantly, Meta reassures users that their WhatsApp messages and calls will remain end-to-end encrypted, even if they choose to connect the account.
Meta is also working on expanding Accounts Center functionality. Soon, users will be able to manage additional features like avatars, Meta AI stickers and Imagine Me creations directly through the hub.
The WhatsApp integration will be rolled out globally, but it could take months before it reaches everyone.
Once available, users will find the option to connect their WhatsApp account in the app’s settings. You might also see the integration option when performing actions across accounts like reposting a WhatsApp Status on Instagram or Facebook.
