Xiaomi appears to be preparing for the launch of its next mid-range lineup, the Xiaomi 17T series. A fresh leak has revealed early details about two upcoming smartphones and early reports suggest the company is working on two new devices expected to debut in Q2 2026. Here are more details.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the standard Xiaomi 17T could feature a 6.59-inch flat display with a 1.5K resolution. The device is also tipped to pack a large battery of around 7,000mAh and may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor.
On the other hand, the higher-end Xiaomi 17T Pro is expected to come equipped with the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. In terms of cameras, the Pro model may include a periscope telephoto lens, offering improved zoom capabilities.
Both smartphones are likely to run a newer version of Xiaomi’s HyperOS, although the exact version details have not yet been revealed.
While the leak does not explicitly confirm the names, both smartphones are widely believed to be part of the Xiaomi 17T series.
Earlier reports suggest that both the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro could feature Leica-tuned camera systems. The devices are expected to include a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 12-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens.
However, the primary and telephoto sensors may differ between the two models. The Pro variant is also tipped to include a periscope telephoto camera, further enhancing its photography capabilities. For selfies and video calls, both phones could feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
Reports indicate that the Xiaomi 17T could launch in India within the next two to three months. The smartphone is expected to be priced at around Rs. 55,000. This estimated pricing may include launch offers that Xiaomi typically provides during the initial sales period.
In any case, the upcoming Xiaomi 17T series appears to be a strong contender in the premium mid-range segment, thanks to its multiple upgrades in performance, battery capacity, and camera capabilities.
