Indian mobile phone manufacturer LAVA could soon launch its LAVA Agni 2 5G smartphone in India to compete in the mid-range smartphone segment.
Pricebaba and tipster Paras Guglani suggest that the LAVA Agni 2 5G might launch in India in mid-March or April, and also tip hardware specifications on the upcoming smartphone. The LAVA Agni 2 5G will succeed the LAVA Agni smartphone that was launched back in 2021.
Paras also speculates that this time the company might introduce a Pro variant under the Agni lineup. However, the report didn’t confirm anything regarding the Pro variant.
Lava will position the Lava Agni 2 as a mid-range flagship and will take on the 5G phones available in the mid-range segment. The smartphone is tipped to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor.

The LAVA Agni 2 5G is speculated to get a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, a Dimensity 1080 processor from MediaTek is expected to power the device.
This processor is seen on popular devices such as the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Realme 10 Pro+ and will lend the LAVA Agni 2 its 5G capabilities.
The processor is expected to be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is likely that the Agni 2 5G will get the provision to expand storage via a microSD card slot.
The LAVA Agni 2 5G has also been tipped to sip juice from a 5,000mAh onboard battery and could support 44W fast charging via its Type C port.
The Agni 2 5G will come equipped with a triple camera setup at the back and will comprise of 50MP primary sensor with OIS support.
Front camera duties are likely to be taken care of by a 16MP shooter.
The report also suggests the presence of a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button for biometric authentication.
The device is expected to command a price tag of Rs 25,000 and could become the cheapest smartphone in India to get the Dimensity 1080 chipset.
