It has announced the roll out of 5G FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air) update for its flagship smartphone called AGNI 5G. This update will make Lava one of the earliest mobile handset companies in India to enable 5G on its smartphones in the country.
This new update will be available for Jio and Airtel users in all those cities where 5G services are provided, which both telecom companies are seeing through as they’ve taken it upon themselves to enable 5G services throughout the country.

Lava AGNI 5G comes with a 6.78 inch FHD+ IPS punch hole display, along with a Wide Vine L1 that is integrated to give crystal clear and lag free viewing experience during gaming or while watching videos and also supports Liquid Cooling Technology.
Lava has already launched its first Indian 5G AGNI smartphone in 2021, which is powered by a Mediatek’s Dimensity 810 chipset that has a maximum clock speed of 2.4 GHz. It also provides super-fast speed to perform multiple tasks and supports multiple applications and games simultaneously.
Speaking on the roll out of FOTA update, Tejinder Singh, Product Head, Lava International, said, “It has always been our aim to provide frequent software updates to our users to enhance the overall experience. Our teams have speedily implemented the FOTA update for the flagship AGNI 5G smartphone after the government announced the roll-out of 5G services earlier this month.”
Lava AGNI 5G comes with a storage variant of 8GB RAM + 128 GB internal capacity, along with a large battery of 5000 mAh units that guarantees uninterrupted usage and comes with a 30W fast charging support.
