Vivo T5 Lite 44W 5G India Launch Date Confirmed

The Vivo T5 Lite 5G will launch in India on July 16 at 12 PM IST. Official teasers showcase the smartphone in Light Blue and Black colour options. The device also features a dual rear camera setup on the back.

Vivo has confirmed that additional hardware details about the smartphone will be announced on July 11 through the dedicated product pages.

The Vivo T5 Lite 5G is confirmed to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. Compared to the Vivo T4 Lite 5G, which offered a 6,000mAh battery and 15W charging, the upcoming model brings improvements in both battery capacity and charging speed.

Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo has shared details of the phone’s alleged engineering prototype revealing information about its display, chipset, cameras, battery, and charging capabilities.

While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any of these details, the latest leak suggests the Xiaomi 18 Pro could bring significant improvements in photography, performance, and battery life.

Xiaomi 18 Pro Engineering Prototype Details (Leaked)

According to the tipster, the Xiaomi 18 Pro engineering unit features a custom 6.3-inch LTPO OLED flat display with an ultra-high-definition resolution. The screen is said to offer large-radius rounded corners and extremely slim bezels on all four sides aiming to provide an immersive viewing experience while maintaining a compact form factor.

Powering the smartphone is expected to be Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 flagship processor, which is reportedly based on a 2nm manufacturing process. Redmi has shared fresh details about the Redmi Note 17 before its official debut in China on July 14. Ahead of the launch event, the company has confirmed some of the smartphone’s key features including its display, battery capacity and a new colour variant. Redmi Note 17 – 7-inch OLED Screen Confirmed

The upcoming Redmi Note 17 will arrive with a 7-inch OLED display, making it the largest OLED screen ever offered on a Redmi smartphone. Alongside the hardware details, Redmi has also revealed a new Meteor Purple colour option. The rear panel features a pattern inspired by streaks that gives the phone a different look from previous Redmi Note models.

The official images show that the handset retains flat edges and a plastic frame. Although the camera module resembles the design used on the Redmi Note 17 Pro, the arrangement of the camera sensors is different on the standard variant.

Redmi Note 17 – 8,000mAh Battery And Durability Features

Battery life is another area where Redmi is making a significant upgrade. The company has confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 will house an 8,000mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, a capacity rarely seen in this price category.

Redmi Note 17 Pro to Offer 5-Year Battery Replacement and Upgrade Programme

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has announced a five-year battery protection programme for the Redmi Note 17 Pro. The smartphone has already been confirmed to feature a 9,000mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging.

Under the programme, customers who purchase the Redmi Note 17 Pro during its first sale period will be eligible for long-term battery support. If the battery’s maximum capacity falls below 80 percent within the first four years of ownership, Xiaomi will replace it free of charge.

The company is also extending the benefit into the fifth year. If the battery health drops below the same 80 percent threshold during the fifth year, Xiaomi says it will replace the original battery with a higher-capacity unit instead of an identical replacement. Promotional material indicates the upgraded battery will offer an additional 1,000mAh allowing users to receive a 10,000mAh battery, subject to the programme’s terms and conditions.

In addition to battery support, Xiaomi says the Redmi Note 17 Pro has been optimised for long-term performance. The company claims HyperOS includes improvements such as foreground app optimisations, faster app startup, and storage wear levelling designed to maintain read and write speeds while reducing storage degradation over time.

The company has also shared more details about the phone’s durability. The Redmi Note 17 Pro features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front and has successfully passed a 3-metre marble drop test. It also carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for resistance against dust, splashes, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets.

On the software side, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 Pro will include security-focused features such as scam call detection and AI face-swapping (deepfake) detection to help protect users from potential fraud.

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max could become more expensive than its predecessor, according to a new report from Counterpoint Research. The research firm has released an estimate of the handset’s bill of materials (BoM) and indicated that the cost of building Apple’s next flagship may increase significantly compared to the current-generation model. iPhone 18 Pro Max Production Cost Tipped to Rise Sharply

Counterpoint Research’s latest analysis compares the estimated bill of materials for the 1TB iPhone 17 Pro Max with the projected component costs of the 1TB iPhone 18 Pro Max.

According to the report, the 1TB iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to cost around $300 more to manufacture than the equivalent iPhone 17 Pro Max. The increase is expected to be even greater for the 2TB storage variant, which will make it the most expensive model in the lineup to produce.

For comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro Max currently starts at $1,199 for the 256GB model, while the 2TB variant is priced at $1,999. Despite the anticipated retail price increase, the report suggests Apple may still have to accept lower profit margins than it did with the previous generation.

NAND, DRAM and 2nm Chipset Expected to Drive Costs Higher

The report attributes most of the increase in manufacturing costs to rising memory prices. Ongoing component shortages that have affected the industry since late last year are expected to push up the prices of NAND flash storage and DRAM.

Another major factor is said to be Apple’s expected 2nm processor along with its advanced packaging technology, both of which are likely to add considerably to the overall bill of materials.

Counterpoint’s estimates suggest that the combined cost of the NAND and DRAM in the iPhone 18 Pro Max could come close to matching the entire estimated bill of materials of the current iPhone model including the processor, cameras, display, memory, and other major components.

While memory and chipset costs are expected to rise, Counterpoint believes that the cost of the display and several other components could decline. However, the report notes that “camera cost will slightly increase due to the new technology.” This is probably due to the rumoured variable aperture camera feature expected to debut on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Apple May Increase Prices Across Storage Variants

According to the report, Apple is likely to adopt different price increases for different storage variants instead of applying a uniform hike across the lineup.

Counterpoint states that “Apple is expected to apply different retail price increases across different storage variants, to avoid the loss of gross profit on large-capacity models.” However, it also added that the company is still expected to operate with lower profit margins on this year’s models even though the average retail price could be close to $200.

A Xiaomi smartphone carrying the model number 2609FRA74G has been approved by both Taiwan’s NCC and the Eurofins certification authorities. This isn’t the first time the device has been spotted, as it has previously appeared on Indonesia’s TKDN and Europe’s EEC certification platforms.

Although the model is widely believed to belong to the Redmi Note 17 family, the certifications do not specify whether it will launch globally as the Redmi Note 17 Pro or the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

The documents indicate that the handset will be available in 8GB + 256GB, 8GB + 512GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB storage variants. The phone is also expected to support microSD card expansion of up to 2TB.

Large battery and 100W Fast Charging

The certification listings also shed light on the phone’s battery and charging capabilities. The device is equipped with a BM95 battery and its TÜV Rheinland certification reveals a typical battery capacity of 9,210mAh.

The accompanying MDY-19-EX charger has also been certified confirming support for 100W wired fast charging.

Apart from battery details, the certifications reveal that the smartphone will support 5G NR connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth Low Energy, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The upcoming Redmi Note device is also listed with an IP68 rating indicating protection against dust and water.

Launch Timeline

Xiaomi has yet to announce when the Redmi Note 17 series will be introduced outside China.

The company generally launches its Redmi Note lineup in China around August, but this year it has moved the announcement forward to July. Xiaomi usually brings the global versions a few months later with international launches usually taking place around January of the following year, even if certification approvals begin much earlier.

The first CAD renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A18 5G have surfaced online with an early look at the smartphone’s design. The upcoming Galaxy A-series handset appears to retain a design language similar to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G. However, renders show some subtle visual changes as well.

Samsung Galaxy A18 5G CAD Renders Leaked

In collaboration with tipster Steve H. McFly @OnLeaks, Smartphone Checker has shared the alleged CAD renders of the Samsung Galaxy A18. The leaked images suggest that the phone will continue with a familiar design featuring a pill-shaped rear camera module similar to the Galaxy A17 5G.

One noticeable change, however, is the camera island finish. Unlike the Galaxy A17 5G, which uses a black camera deco, the Galaxy A18 is shown with a camera module that matches the phone’s body colour.

Apart from this change, the overall design appears largely unchanged. The renders show a flat rear panel with an LED flash positioned in the top-left corner beside the camera module. Samsung’s branding is expected to remain centre-aligned near the bottom of the back panel.

On the front, the Galaxy A18 is tipped to feature a waterdrop-style notch for the selfie camera. The power button and volume keys are expected to be placed on the right edge of the device. At the bottom, the phone appears to include a USB Type-C port positioned between the speaker grille and the microphone opening.

Samsung Galaxy A18 5G – Expected Specifications

According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy A18 is expected to measure 164.4 x 77.8 x 7.84mm, making it slightly thicker than its predecessor. For comparison, the Galaxy A17 measures 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.5mm.

In terms of hardware, the upcoming smartphone is rumoured to feature a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The report also suggests that Samsung may opt for either a Qualcomm Snapdragon or a MediaTek chipset instead of using one of its own Exynos processors. However, the exact processor has not yet been revealed.

For reference, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G was launched in India in August 2025 with a starting price of Rs. 18,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The handset is powered by Samsung’s octa-core Exynos 1330 processor and packs a 5,000mAh battery. It also features a triple rear camera setup led by a 50MP primary camera.

As of now, Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy A18 5G or its specifications, so these details should be considered based on leaks and may change ahead of the official launch.

Oppo is reportedly developing its next-generation foldable smartphone, the Oppo Find N7. According to recent leaks, the upcoming foldable is expected to feature a wide foldable design similar to the rumoured to the other wide foldables expected to arrive later this year. Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo has been sharing details about the device over the past few weeks. The latest leak from the tipster reveals fresh information about its battery capacity and hardware.

Oppo Find N7 Battery Details Leaked

According to the latest post shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Oppo Find N7 is currently being tested with a 2nm Snapdragon flagship processor, which is believed to be the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (SM8950).

The leak also claims that the smartphone is being evaluated with an on-device AI accelerator.

The tipster further states that the foldable is currently planned to feature a battery capacity beginning with the number “6” with the engineering prototype targeting a 6,500mAh battery. If this information proves accurate, the Oppo Find N7 could offer a significantly larger battery than competing foldable smartphones expected from Samsung and Apple.

Oppo Find N7 – Camera Design Still Under Evaluation

Responding to a user comment in the same Weibo post, Digital Chat Station revealed that Oppo is currently testing two different camera module designs for the Find N7.

One prototype reportedly features a large circular camera island, while the other adopts a horizontal camera layout. The tipster also asked followers which of the two designs they preferred indicating that Oppo has not yet finalised the camera design.

The Oppo Find N7 is reportedly scheduled to launch in Q1 2027. If the leaked timeline turns out to be accurate, it could become the world’s first foldable smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset.

Earlier leaks from the same source suggested that the Find N7 will feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch foldable inner display. The display panels are reportedly being supplied by both Samsung Display (SDC) and BOE.
