No official confirmation on the launch date of Windows 12 yet.
The release is anticipated in late 2024 or 2025.
Windows’s new update will have AI capabilities to enhance user experience.
Speculations around Windows 12 have not been much to make it to headlines yet. While Windows 12 is expected to be the next major upgrade following Windows 11, we hardly know anything about what to expect from the next update for certain.
What we do know or can anticipate is that it will come with a stronger focus on integrating AI features, especially the Copilot tool.
Earlier in May 2024, Microsoft introduced Copilot+ PCs running Windows 11, showcasing how AI would take centre stage in their operating system.
One notable AI feature, called ‘Recall,’ is designed to track your PC activity. It is believed to be making it easy to locate any misplaced file or app in the system.
Hard to miss that this feature would be quite similar to Apple’s Time Machine on Mac but with enhanced capabilities.
In addition to this, Microsoft is gearing up to release Windows 11 24H2, which is a significant update for the tech giant.
It will include better HDR support for displays, Wi-Fi 7 compatibility, and new file archive options like 7-zip and TAR, along with other enhancements.
Windows 12 Release Date Rumours
If the latest rumours are to be believed, Windows 12 might not be released this year at all.
The update will most likely roll out in 2025, shortly after support for Windows 10 ends.
This speculation has been circulating for some time, and we even got a sneak peek at a next-gen Windows design, dubbed the ‘Next Valley Prototype Design,’ during Build 2023.
However, plans could have shifted after the Copilot+ PCs announcement in 2024.
Meanwhile, we also got hints from an Intel executive that the next Windows version might arrive in 2024, although they didn’t specifically mention Windows 12 by name.
Windows 12 Supported Devices
At the time Windows 11 was launched in 2021, a key requirement was having TPM (Trusted Platform Module) enabled. It is a security feature found on most motherboards.
This requirement will likely carry over to Windows 12, though by now, most PCs should already have TPM enabled.
There’s also speculation that Microsoft might increase the minimum RAM requirement from 4GB to 8GB for Windows 12, but other hardware requirements are expected to remain similar to Windows 11.
Windows 12: Expected Features
In terms of features, since Windows 12 is still only a speculation, that too not much to even discuss.
There’s no concrete information yet.
However, given Microsoft’s current focus on AI, it’s likely that Windows 12 will expand on these capabilities.
Possible features might include a smart assistant that provides contextual suggestions based on your activities, recognizes people in emails or conversations, and learns your habits to optimize your workflow.
For now, Microsoft is focusing on ‘Recall’ for Windows 11, an AI tool that records everything you do on your computer, making it searchable with natural language.
This feature was set to launch on June 18 alongside Copilot+ PCs, but it was delayed following some negative feedback.

Introduction:
The competition is on to provide the quickest, most dependable home internet, and two front-runners have emerged namely 5G wireless and fiber optic broadband.
As these technologies improve and increase their reach, users are faced with a critical decision: which one is best for their home internet needs?
Here we are lending you a helping hand to get your ultimate winner and reasons why to stick by it for a longer run.
5G Wireless
5G Wireless
5G home internet is a new form of internet service that connects houses to the internet via 5G wireless technology.
It transmits data from your house to a neighboring cell tower using radio waves. A 5G home internet kit consists of a modem or router that connects to a 5G network and transmits a Wi-Fi signal.
You may use this to connect devices to the network, such as PCs, cellphones and smart TVs. Its benefits include quicker download and upload speeds, availability in locations without cable or fiber, and ease of installation.
However, it has limits, like coverage, dependability and expense.
Fiber optic broadband is a high-speed internet connection that transmits data in the form of light pulses through tiny strands of glass or plastic.
It provides quicker and more dependable internet than traditional copper-based connections, such as DSL or cable.
The technique works by connecting wires directly to the residence and transmitting data via light pulses at high rates. An optical network terminal (ONT) transforms these impulses into electrical signals that are sent to devices.
The benefits include extraordinary speed, low latency, dependability, large capacity, and future-proof capabilities. Downsides include possible expert installation charges and restricted availability. Despite this, fiber optic broadband is considered the gold standard for home internet.
Comparison based on Speed & Performance
Fiber optic internet provides improved speed and performance, with download rates of up to 10 gigabits per second (Gbps), making it perfect for data-intensive activities, such as 4K video streaming, cloud backups, online gaming, and videoconferencing.
Current 5G networks offer download rates of roughly 1 Gbps, but future advances might enhance them much more. For households with heavy internet users or data hogs, the extra speed of fiber can make a significant difference.
Comparison based on Reliability & Consistency
Since fiber optic internet connects to houses directly through physical cables, it is less vulnerable to outages caused by inclement weather or network congestion, and so offers superior dependability and service consistency.
However, 5G, a wireless technology, may encounter sporadic connection challenges in regions with weak tower coverage or barriers.
Despite their growth, 5G networks remain strong and their resilience is especially beneficial for mission-critical applications or users who demand constant connectivity.
Comparison based on Availability & Accessibility
5G is becoming more popular as telecommunications firms swiftly construct networks around the country, with ambitions for countrywide coverage in the coming years. Fiber optic networks are more expensive and time-consuming to establish, which limits their availability, particularly in rural and suburban regions.
5G is sometimes the only high-speed internet alternative available in local areas and its speedier installation and activation than fiber lines makes it a significant selling factor.
Comparison based on Cost Considerations
Fiber optic internet is typically more expensive than 5G owing to increased infrastructure expenditures. 5G networks are less expensive to create, enabling carriers to offer more reasonable plans, particularly for basic high-speed internet.
Fiber optic plans are normally more expensive, but faster speeds may make the investment worthwhile for some customers. 5G services frequently have data limitations, but fiber subscriptions give unlimited bandwidth, making fiber more desirable to heavy internet users.
Conclusion
5G and fiber optic internet are major improvements over regular broadband, however the choice is frequently based on speed/reliability and availability/cost.
Fiber optics provide superior performance and consistency, making it a wise long-term investment. However, 5G’s greater availability and cheaper entry cost may be more viable.
As these technologies grow, the distinctions may become less noticeable, so examine your unique internet demands, budget, and local market possibilities to find the best fit for your house.

It may not be suitable for frequent data users or those who want constant fast speeds. The ideal decision is determined by your unique requirements, budget, and local availability.
FAQs
What are the key differences between 5G and fiber optic home internet?
Fiber optic internet provides higher download rates of up to 10 Gbps, is more stable owing to fewer interference and outages, is implemented more quickly, and has broader coverage, particularly in rural and suburban areas, as opposed to restricted fiber optic availability. Furthermore, because of the reduced cost of construction, 5G internet services are typically less expensive than equivalent fiber optic bundles.
Which one offers faster speeds?
Fiber optic internet is the clear winner when it comes to raw speed. Fiber networks can deliver download speeds up to 10 Gbps, while current 5G networks max out around 1 Gbps. This makes fiber better suited for data-heavy applications like 4K streaming, cloud backups, and online gaming.
Is 5G or fiber optic more reliable?
Fiber optic internet is generally more reliable than 5G. Since fiber networks are built on physical cables running directly to homes, they are less susceptible to disruptions from weather, network congestion, or other interference that can impact wireless 5G signals.
Which one has better availability?
5G has a significant advantage in terms of availability and accessibility. Telecom providers are rapidly deploying 5G networks across the country, with plans for nationwide coverage in the next few years. Fiber optic networks are much more expensive and time-consuming to install, so availability is more limited, especially in rural and suburban areas.
Is 5G or fiber optic more affordable?
5G internet plans are typically more affordable than comparable fiber optic packages. The lower infrastructure costs for 5G allow providers to offer more budget-friendly plans, especially for basic high-speed internet. Fiber optic tends to be more expensive, though the higher speeds may justify the cost for some users.
Which one should I choose for my home internet?
The best choice depends on your specific needs and what’s available in your local market. If you have access to both 5G and fiber, the slightly faster speeds and reliability of fiber may make it the better long-term investment. But if 5G is the only high-speed option in your area, or if you’re more cost-conscious, then 5G can still be a great choice. Be sure to compare plans and providers in your region to find the right fit.

We’ve been using the Moto G45 5G for a week now, and it didn’t take us long to get used to handling the phone. First off, the phone’s design adds to the overall feel.
The soft tactile vegan leather finish gives off this classy, elegant vibe that you’ll appreciate every time you pick it up.
Plus, it’s super lightweight at just 183g, which makes it easy to carry around without feeling bulky.
What we like most is the boxy body with those nicely curved corners. It’s just right—not too sharp and definitely comfortable to hold. One-hand operation? Not an issue at all!
The camera module is also a nice touch. It’s neatly integrated into the back panel, and there’s no annoying lens sticking out. In fact, it’s so flat that you barely notice it’s there, giving the phone a clean, sleek look.
The button placement feels natural too.
The build feels solid for a budget-friendly phone. It even comes with an IP52 rating, so it can handle a bit of dust and water spray without breaking a sweat. So far, it’s been a smooth experience.

While at the beginning the display didn’t seem any impressive, after using the Moto G45 5G for some time, it feels like a solid performer.
The 6.5-inch screen with its almost uniform bezels feels immersive. Whether scrolling through social media or watching videos, the display is vibrant.
While the HD+ resolution (1600 x 720) isn’t the sharpest out there, it’s good enough for everyday use, especially for a phone in this price range.
What really stands out is the 120Hz refresh rate. It’s a nice touch that you don’t always get in this segment. And it does make a difference in the overall performance. It makes navigating through apps, swiping between screens, and even playing games feel smoother and more fluid.
However, we did feel at times touch was unresponsive. We had to swipe 3 to 5 times to register commands.
Anyhow, the display’s colours and brightness are good. Viewing angles too are decent and outdoor visibility holds up decently.
But if you’ve ever used an OLED, you might notice that an extra “punch” is definitely missing rather noticeably. Anyhow, for what it offers, the screen does a pretty good job overall.
Powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 octa-core processor, the Moto G45 5G feels quick and responsive. We had the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant for this review and it is more than enough for regular usage.
Apps open smoothly and switching between them is snappy. While we used the phone for long hours, we hardly noticed any lags or hangs. With a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz, it is actually a perfect phone for everyday tasks like browsing, streaming, and messaging.
Multitasking is seamless too, thanks to the octa-core setup.
We tried running a couple of apps in the background and didn’t experience any stuttering.
We performed some benchmark tests on the phone and it stood strong in most. Here are some results for reference.
Overall, the G45 5G is fast and reliable for daily use.
We found the camera pretty impressive for its range. The 50MP Quad Pixel camera delivers sharp and detailed photos, especially in good lighting conditions.
We’ve taken some nice outdoor shots. The pictures really capture the details and colours well in good lighting. It’s one of those cameras that doesn’t need much tweaking for casual photography.
What troubled us in this phone was the slow shutter speed. It takes a good 4 to 5 seconds for the camera to take the shot. This delay ruined some of the pictures we were trying to take.
The 16MP selfie camera also does a solid job. It captures well-lit and clear selfies.
The Night Vision performance is below par though. There was a lack of clarity in most photos that we tried to take in the night mode. Night modes photos are also a bit blurry if you fail to keep your hand in absolute steadiness.
The low-light shots without processing could have been better.
When it comes to video shooting, the Moto G45 5G performs decently. It captures smooth footage in good lighting. While it’s not the best for low-light videos, it’s reliable enough for everyday recordings or quick clips.

After use, the Moto G45 5G battery life has been a real highlight. With its hefty 5000mAh capacity, the phone easily works through a full day. You can rely on it for moderate to heavy use.
We tried everything, from browsing, streaming videos, or sneaking in a bit of gaming and the battery supported throughout. At least you do not have to be constantly searching for a charger.
And when it does come time to charge, the TurboPower 20W charger does a decent job.
It’s not the fastest charger out there, but it gets the job done without making you wait forever. We usually got a nice battery boost in a short time.
All in all, the battery and charging balance convenience and performance pretty well.
Moto G45 5G Review Verdict – Should You Buy It?
Moto G45 5G Review Verdict – Should You Buy It?
After spending a week with the Moto G45 5G, it’s clear that this phone offers great value for its price.
The sleek design with its lightweight build is perfect for daily use. The display is smooth, thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate. And though it’s not OLED, it gets the job done. The 5000mAh battery lasts easily through a full day. The TurboPower charging is a convenient added advantage. The camera offers versatility too.
Overall, the phone offers good performance thanks to the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. It keeps the phone running smoothly without any major hiccups.
If you are looking for a 10K segment phone with a good balance between design, performance, and usability, the Moto G45 5G is a solid option.

Infinix Hot 50 5G Review
Infinix Hot 50 5G at first glance looks like a good under-10k 5G smartphone. Infinix Hot 50 5G has a sleek design, which is enhanced by the shiny two-tone back finish. We had the Sale Green version, which looks good. The back finish changes colour tone when held at different angles. This completely defines how the phone looks.
At just 7.8mm, the brand is claiming it to be the slimmest 5G phone you will come across in this price range. Can’t say much about the claim, but we did notice the difference.
The phone slips easily into your pocket and even after holding it for a while, it doesn’t feel bulky or heavy. It feels comfortable in hand.
The new “Wooow Cube” camera module at the back is unique. Whether you like it or not is subjective, we think it is definitely something different. However, we were only starting to like the camera module until we kept the phone on a desk and noticed how it wobbles way too much.
It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Plus, it’s P54 splash-proof, which adds a bit of peace of mind.
Overall, design-wise the Hot 50 5G balances style and functionality well!

The 6.7-inch punch-hole display is the highlight of this phone. It is perfect for this price point. Whether you’re binge-watching or scrolling through apps, the experience is smooth and vivid.
While it could have been an immersive experience, the large bottom bezel of the phone hinders that.
The phone does come with a 93.90% screen-to-body ratio if that helps.
The phone gives you an option to switch between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz refresh rates and has a 240Hz touch sampling rate. However, we did face touch response issues at times with this phone.
Brightness-wise, it goes up to 500 nits. We tried to use the phone outdoors and it is easily viewable outdoors. However, you can’t expect this to perform smoothly under direct sunlight even though the brightness adjustment feature at times helps adapt to different lighting conditions.
The dynamic bar at the top is also a good addition and surely another highlight you will feel when using the phone. It makes navigation just a bit smoother and more intuitive.

For an under-10K segment phone, we have to say the performance is pretty impressive.
The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor really makes it a good smartphone for basic everyday tasks.
We tested the phone with some basic tasks and whether it was downloading large files, gaming, or having HD video calls, everything felt smoother than we expected. The phone handles basic functions fast without any hiccups.
We also didn’t face any issues with multitasking or switching between apps.
We put the phone through some tests and it faired well in almost all benchmarks.
Moreover, this one comes with TUV SUD A-Level fluency certification. This means the phone will stay as fast as it is now for the next five years. How much this claim holds is a question for the future, but this is reassuring.
Running on XOS 14, based on Android 14, the phone’s interface is super user-friendly.
Infinix has added several additional features like AI Gallery, Video Assistant, and Eye Care.
Overall, it’s a solid performer that feels reliable in everyday use!

CAMERA

The camera setup on the Hot 50 5G is versatile and capable. At least for the price you will get this phone for, we can say this is decent. It captures everyday moments while also allowing getting creative with photography.
The Sony 48MP IMX582 AI Dual Camera captures images with clarity and detail.
In the outdoors with good lighting, the results were sharp and vibrant. The low-light photos could have been better though. The camera visibly struggles when low light conditions.
The AI Cam mode over-enhances photos sometimes. It does make some of the photos look incredibly artificial in some settings.
There are creative modes like Dual Video, Film, Pro Mode and Super Night mode.
The 8MP selfie camera is decent.
There is portrait mode and various filters are fun to play with.

The 18W Type-C fast charging support, which isn’t too fast but for the price tag, this is good. It takes only a short while to get the battery topped up.
