The new Realme TechLife Studio H1 have a very classic design that gives off stylish vibes without being too loud in its design element. It immediately stood out for us design-wise.

The matte metal surface gives a sleek and modern look. The headphones feel premium in both looks and build quality.

What also needs to be appreciated is how lightweight Realme has managed to make these headphones. These are very comfortable to keep on your head even for a longer time. Realme claims to have used skin-friendly materials.

We didn’t experience any discomfort even after wearing them for extended periods.

It has a circumaural design with large ear pads that go around your ears. The sponge memory cushions feel incredibly soft and snug. We actually didn’t feel any issue with the fit of the first Realme headphones.

The headband is scalable. So, you can easily adjust it to fit just right effortlessly. Moreover, the collapsible metal shaft feels solid and is durable.

It is easily foldable, which is perfect for travelling. We also found the function buttons like the volume and on-off controls easy to use. Every control is conveniently placed.

Realme TechLife Studio H1 – Sound Quality and ANC

Realme TechLife Studio H1 – Sound Quality and ANC
  • 40mm Mega Dynamic Bass Driver
  • LDAC Audio Codec; Hi-res Certification
  • 43dB Hybrid Noise Cancellation + 3 Level Smart ANC
  • Spatial audio effect

We found the sound quality of the Realme TechLife Studio H1 well-balanced. It uses a 40mm Mega Dynamic Bass Driver for promising users a powerful and punchy bass effect.

We tried to play a variety of music including upbeat tracks or something more mellow. The clarity and richness of sound were good.

However, it now seems that Realme has tried to keep every type of user in mind while finetuning the audio settings. While this is a good thing, it can also be an issue for certain users.

For starters, the sound might not immediately feel loud or deep. You can increase the volume easily but that creates another issue. The headphones have severe sound leakage issues.

The headphones also have support for the LDAC audio codec. Everything is clearer and offers from the crisp highs to the balanced mids.

We didn’t experience any sound distortion for the entire time we used the products.

Realme TechLige Studio H1 also has an active noise cancellation feature. It offers 43dB Hybrid Noise Cancellation with three levels of Smart ANC. The overall ANC performance is decent and nothing extraordinary.

We really feel the ANC effect could have been a lot better.

It also has a spatial audio effect that adds an immersive listening experience. The spatial effect makes the sound feel like it is coming from all around you.

The Realme TechLife Studio H1 packs some useful features as well. Realme has added a dual-device connection feature for convenience.

This feature lets you pair the headphones with two devices at once.

We tried connecting with our mobile and laptop. The connection was smooth and effortless.

Moreover, you can anytime switch between the two connected devices without disconnecting and reconnecting every time. It is a convenient feature to have if you have to do a lot of multitasking.

It has Bluetooth v5.4 connectivity. We didn’t experience any connection drops or lag while we were using the headphones. Pairing the device was quick and simple.

For those who enjoy gaming or watching videos, TechLife Studip H1 comes with the 80ms ultra-low latency mode. It keeps the sound perfectly in sync with the action on the screen of the video game.

Even with turning the ANC feature on, battery performance remains solid. This honestly is very impressive for a headphone of this segment.

40mm Mega Dynamic Bass Driver

The 40mm Mega Dynamic Bass Driver in the realme Techlife Studio H1 headphones significantly enhances the audio experience. This large driver size allows for a broader soundstage, meaning it can produce a wider range of frequencies more accurately. The result is a richer, fuller sound with deeper bass and clearer treble. Whether you’re listening to music, watching movies, or playing games, this feature ensures a powerful and immersive audio experience that truly brings your media to life.

LDAC Audio Codec and Hi-res Certification

The realme Techlife Studio H1 headphones come with LDAC Audio Codec and Hi-res Certification that contribute to superior sound quality.

LDAC is a type of audio coding technology developed by Sony that enables the transmission of High-Resolution (Hi-Res) audio content, even over a Bluetooth connection. It can transfer data at up to three times greater speed, providing an enhanced wireless listening experience.

The Hi-res Certification means that these headphones have met high standards of audio performance, capable of reproducing the full range of sound from recordings mastered from better-than-CD-quality music sources.

43dB Hybrid Noise Cancellation + 3 Level Smart ANC

The 43dB Hybrid Noise Cancellation and 3 Level Smart ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) provide an uninterrupted and immersive audio experience. The 43dB Hybrid Noise Cancellation feature uses both feedforward and feedback microphones to detect and neutralize external noise, ensuring that only the sound you want reaches your ears.

This is further enhanced by the 3 Level Smart ANC, which allows users to adjust the level of noise cancellation according to their environment or preference. Whether you’re in a noisy cafe, a bustling street, or a quiet room, these features ensure that you can enjoy your music, podcasts, or calls without unwanted distractions.

Spatial Audio Effect

Spatial Audio Effect

The realme Techlife Studio H1 features the Spatial Audio Effect technology, which works by manipulating the audio signals to mimic the way we perceive sound in real life. This creates the impression that sound is coming from different directions and distances, resulting in an immersive and lifelike listening experience, similar to being in a live concert or a movie theater.

80ms Ultra-Low Latency

The realme Techlife Studio H1 headphones come equipped with the 80ms ultra-low latency feature, ensuring virtually no delay between the audio you hear and the corresponding visuals on your smartphone. This is particularly important when watching videos or playing games, where synchronicity between sound and picture is crucial for an immersive experience. With a latency of just 80 milliseconds, these headphones deliver sound in near real-time, ensuring that what you see and what you hear are perfectly in sync.

Starlink Internet Coming to India – Discover All About Elon Musk’s Satellite Internet Service

  • Starlink offers fast and reliable internet using satellites.

Starlink Internet Coming to India

Elon Musk the owner of Starlink has recently expressed his commitment to “serve the people of India” through a post on X (previously Twitter).

Musk posted on X that Starlink “will do its best to serve the people of India” in response to user @DogeDesigner posting a news story reporting that India’s government will allot spectrum for satellite broadband administratively and not via auction.

This statement comes after the Indian government’s decision to allocate spectrum for satellite broadband administratively.

The auction route was advocated by Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries.

Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also announced this week that the allocation of spectrum for satellite services would be done administratively, with the cost determined by the telecom regulator.

“Satellite spectrum across the world is allocated administratively. India is not doing anything different from the rest of the world,” Scindia said.

He further added, “If you do decide on auctioning, then you will be doing something that is different from the rest of the world.”

This announcement along with Musk’s comments to provide Internet services in India through Starlink now sets the stage for an intense competition between Starlink and Indian telecom companies such as Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.

After a very public back and forth, Elon Musk’s Starlink has come closer to the win in the fight for India’s satellite broadband space. The Indian government clarified that the spectrum will be allocated and not auctioned as was advocated by Indian billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Sunil Mittal for a while.

“Those satellite companies who have ambitions to come into urban areas, serving elite retail customers just need to take the telecom licences like everybody else, be bound to the same conditions,” Mittal said at an Industry event in New Delhi this week.

In a statement following Mittal’s remarks, Airtel said, “Satellite operators who want to provide services to urban areas and retail customers indeed need to go through the regular licensing process of any country, and in this case, India, to obtain a license; buy the spectrum; undertake all the obligations, including rollout and security; pay their license fees and taxes and they would be welcomed by the telecom fraternity.”

Starlink – All You Need to Know About Elon Musk’s Satellite Internet Service

Living in a remote area with unreliable internet can be a nightmare. This is where Starlink created by Elon Musk’s SpaceX is a game changer.

Starlink provides fast and reliable internet to even the most isolated places on Earth using a network of satellites.

Here’s everything you need to know about the service –

  • Starlink’s Internet Service: Uses satellites in low Earth orbit to provide fast, reliable internet even in remote areas.
  • How It Works: Unlike traditional internet that relies on cables, Starlink beams data from space without the need for any ground infrastructure.
  • Easy Setup: Users need a Starlink kit (satellite dish, Wi-Fi router), which can be self-installed without professional help.
  • Speeds and Data: Offers internet speeds between 25 Mbps and 220 Mbps with unlimited data on most plans.
  • Global Reach: Starlink is available in countries like the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, France and Australia. It’s expanding to places like Spain, Italy and Mexico, and has a presence in Latin America, with Chile among the first to benefit. Countries like Norway, Sweden, Belgium and Brazil have also joined the growing list of Starlink users.
  • Potential for India: Starlink could provide reliable internet to rural and remote areas in India where traditional broadband is unavailable or unreliable.
  • No Data Caps: Most residential plans offer unlimited data with no caps, unlike many satellite services that throttle speeds after reaching a data limit.
  • Self-Installation: No professional installation is required; users set up the dish and router themselves.
  • Cost: Equipment and monthly fees may be higher than local providers but offer value in areas without alternative internet options. The cheapest Starlink monthly plan starts at around $50 (Approx INR 4,200)
  • Flexibility: Starlink offers no long-term contracts giving users the flexibility to opt in and out.
  • Digital Divide: If introduced in India, Starlink could help bridge the connectivity gap in rural regions.

Instagram New Features to Protect Teens from Sextortion, Working on Social Library Feature

Highlights

  • Instagram is rolling out new safety features to combat sextortion.
  • New features include warnings and hiding follower lists to protect teenagers.
  • Instagram is also developing a Social Library feature.

Instagram is one of the popular social media apps among teens around the world. The platform has often come under fire for teen safety with growing cases of crime reported including cases of sextortion.

Instagram has been taking steps to make the platform safer for teens by introducing parental guides and built-in protections. It is now being reported that the Meta-owned platform is rolling out more features to combat the growing problem of sextortion.

Sextortion is one of the serious crimes targeting teenagers on social media including Instagram. Criminals often create fake profiles and use pictures of teens. They befriend other teenagers using these profiles and gradually build relationships with victims. With time these criminal accounts manufacture conversations to become more sexual, which eventually leads to the sharing of intimate photos.

Once victims share their intimate photos with the criminal accounts, they are blackmailed with threats to expose these images unless they provide more explicit material.

This modus operandi is becoming increasingly common and has had devastating consequences including multiple cases of teen suicides.

“The dramatic rise in sextortion scams is taking a heavy toll on children and teens, with reports of online enticement increasing by over 300% from 2021 to 2023. Campaigns like this bring much-needed education to help families recognize these threats early. By equipping young people with knowledge and directing them to resources like NCMEC’s CyberTipline, and Take it Down, we can better protect them from falling victim to online exploitation.” – John Shehan, a Senior Vice President from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

According to a recent report in The Washington Post, Instagram is rolling out new measures to protect its young users. These include warnings about sextortion and changes that make it harder for criminals to share victims’ photos, such as hiding follower lists to reduce the chances of threats.

“Instagram is testing new safety notices in Instagram DM and Messenger to let teens know when they’re chatting with someone who may be in a different country.”

Instagram mentioned in its blog post, “Accounts we detect as showing signals of scammy behaviour won’t be able to see people’s followers or following lists, removing their ability to exploit this feature. These potential sextorters also won’t be able to see lists of accounts that have liked someone’s posts, photos they’ve been tagged in, or other accounts that have been tagged in their photos.”

“Instagram owner Meta says, with some organised groups working together to pressure teenagers into sharing nude photos. Meta said in a statement Thursday that the settings such as hiding teens’ follower lists from potential blackmailers make it harder for criminals to connect with young people on the photo-sharing app and give teens more resources to learn the signs of a sex scam,” mentions The Washington Post report.

The new safety features reflect Instagram’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safer environment for its community, especially for teenagers.

Instagram Working on New New Social Library Features

Meanwhile, it is also being reported that Instagram is working on a new feature called Social Library. The feature was recently discovered in the iOS beta version of the app.

According to developer Alessandro Paluzzi, this new feature is designed to help users easily find posts they have previously shared, liked or received through chat.

image
Developer Alessandro Paluzzi’s post on Threads.

“Instagram is working on Social Library, a section where you can easily find posts, Reels, and media you’ve shared or received in chat threads, collections, and likes,” Paluzzi wrote on Threads.

The Verge in its recent report revealed that the feature is also expected to include a search function. This will make it more convenient for users to locate and manage their content.

“A magnifying glass in the corner of the screenshot suggests this content will be searchable, too, which could make it a lot easier to quickly find a Reel or post you’re looking for,” The Verge report reveals.

FAQs

Q1. What new safety measures is Instagram introducing to combat sextortion?

Answer. Instagram is rolling out warnings about sextortion and changes like hiding follower lists to make it harder for criminals to share victims’ photos.

Q2. How do criminals conduct sextortion on social media platforms like Instagram?

Answer. Criminals create fake profiles to befriend teens, build relationships, and eventually blackmail victims by threatening to expose shared intimate photos unless more explicit material is provided.

Q3. What is the new Instagram Social Library feature?

Answer. Instagram is working on a Social Library, a section where you can easily find posts, Reels, and media you’ve shared or received in chat threads, collections, and likes. The feature is expected to include a search function, making it more convenient for users to locate and manage their content.

Google Photos Enhances HDR Image Editing for Pixel Users, Memories To Replace With Timeline Feature

0

Highlights

  • Google Photos has introduced a new machine learning model.
  • It preserves Ultra HDR quality during photo edits
  • The new model is currently only available for Pixel 8 and newer models.
  • Google working to rename its “Memories” feature to “Timeline” as per leaked Google Photos code.

Google Photos is a great app to store all your pictures in one place. However, if you have ever tried editing a picture in the Google Photos app on your smartphone, you must have noticed that pictures usually lose their quality post editing. While users have often raised this issue in forums and online communities, it appears Google has finally found a solution but it may not be for you.

Google has recently rolled out a new machine learning model that will now allow users to edit their pictures in the Google Photos app without losing Ultra HDR quality. Users would now be able to use even complex tools such as the Magic Eraser without worrying about the quality of the picture.

However, this new model is only for Pixel phone users for now. Google has made available this new feature on the Pixel 8 and newer models.

This model will ensure that even after making detailed edits to HDR images, their high dynamic range (HDR) quality is preserved.

Previously, editing HDR photos in Google Photos would often result in pictures losing important elements such as brightness and contrast. With this new machine learning model, HDR photos will retain their original quality even after edits.

image

The key improvement comes from the way Google’s model predicts and recreates missing HDR metadata.

image

When you edit features like Magic Eraser or use tools like Photo Unblur, Portrait Blur, or Magic Editor, the model steps in to prevent issues like “ghosting,” where edited SDR images don’t align with the HDR Gain Map. By predicting and blending these areas seamlessly, the edited images maintain vibrant HDR quality without any unwanted artefacts.

Google Photos May Replace Memories to Timeline Feature

Meanwhile, a recent Android Authority report has revealed that Google might be likely planning to rename its “Memories” feature to “Timeline.”

Android Authority found the information from a code of Google Photos with reference options like “Add to your Timeline” and “Go to your Timeline.”

image
Discovered code strings in Google Photos (version 7.4) (Screenshot credit – Android Authority)

This indicates a shift in how photos will be organised in the Google Photos app in future.

As per the report, the code also suggests that Memories won’t completely disappear but might be moved to the Collections tab as it refers to “Memories has moved to Collections.”

Moreover, Google is testing several other changes in the app including a modern video player and better identification of AI-generated images.

FAQs

Q1. What’s the issue with editing pictures in the Google Photos app?

Answer. Pictures usually lose their quality post-editing in the Google Photos app. Google has addressed this by rolling out a new machine learning model that preserves Ultra HDR quality.

Q2. Is the new improvement in editing pictures in Google Photos available to all?

Answer. No, this new model is only available for Pixel phone users specifically on the Pixel 8 and newer models.

Q3. How does the new model improve the editing process in Google Photos?

Answer. The new model predicts and recreates missing HDR metadata, preventing issues like “ghosting” and ensuring HDR photos retain their original quality post-edit.

Q4. Is Google renaming a feature in the Google Photos app?

Answers. Yes, as per reports, Google might rename the “Memories” feature to “Timeline” and move it to the Collections tab. They are also testing a modern video player and better identification of AI-generated images.
