Threads is finally making it easier for users to know when their posts or accounts have been penalised. Meta is bringing the “Account Status” feature to Threads, a tool that shows you when your content has been taken down, hidden, or otherwise limited for breaking the platform’s rules.

This move adds some much-needed transparency, especially since Threads’ recommendation algorithm can be confusing especially for creators. Earlier this year, Meta even changed its stance on political content, reversing last year’s decision to limit posts related to elections and other social topics.

Just like on Instagram and Facebook, Account Status will now let Threads users see any “actions” Meta has taken against their accounts. That includes whether a post was deleted, made less visible in feeds, or marked as not recommended. It’ll also show if certain features were blocked because of a rule violation.

If your account has been penalised, Account Status is where you can appeal. Meta says it will notify users when their appeal has been reviewed.

The feature is starting to roll out now and can be found in the “account” section of the Threads settings menu.

Threads Will Also Start Showing Video Ads

Alongside these changes, Threads is stepping up its monetisation game. After beginning to test ads earlier this year, Meta has now announced at IAB NewFronts that video ads are coming to the app.

The company said a “small number” of advertisers will be testing video ads in formats like 19:9 or 1:1, which will appear between regular posts in users’ feeds. Meta didn’t share exact numbers or timelines for a wider rollout.

At the same event, Meta also shared plans to test Reels trending ads, which will be displayed next to some of the most popular videos on Instagram.

In short, Meta is using the same playbook for Threads as it did for Facebook and Instagram pushing more ads, even if it makes the social experience feel a little less personal.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Latest Teaser Video

Samsung is getting ready to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge next week and Samsung Italy has dropped a teaser video to build the hype. As expected, the teaser mainly highlights just how slim this phone is. The video features a fast-paced sequence of items getting slimmer and slimmer, with the S25 Edge itself showing up briefly at the 10-second mark.

According to leaks, the S25 Edge will be just 5.85mm thick, making it the thinnest Samsung phone ever. It’s expected to come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite for Galaxy chip, a 200MP main camera and a 3,900mAh battery.

S25 Edge To Feature Corning’s Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2

Meanwhile, the Korean brand has finally confirmed what was previously being speculated about the display protection feature of the Galaxy S25 Edge.

It was previously hinted that S25 Edge would debut Corning’s new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and now Samsung has officially confirmed it in joint a teaser campaign. This marks the first time we’re seeing this glass in action.

image

According to Samsung, the display combines “Corning’s advanced glass technology with Samsung’s proprietary processing and reinforcement technologies”, which results in “a sleek yet strong design.”

Corning adds that Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 features crystals “intricately embedded within its glass matrix, enhancing the durability and crack deflection capabilities of the display cover”. The ion-exchange process helps the material become tougher while still looking crystal clear.

Kwangjin Bae, EVP and Head of the Mechanical R&D Team of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “Galaxy S25 Edge will set a new standard for craftsmanship and performance as our slimmest Galaxy S series device yet. To support this breakthrough design, it was essential to develop a display material that was both exceptionally thin and reliably strong — a challenge that brought Corning and Samsung together, united by a shared vision for purposeful engineering and user-centric innovation. That vision is embedded in every detail of Galaxy S25 Edge.”

To add on, Andrew Beck, Vice President and General Manager, Corning Gorilla Glass, said, “With Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, we’ve achieved a remarkable combination of thinness and strength, giving consumers the best of both worlds — exceptional durability in a modern, sleek and premium design. The craftsmanship of Galaxy S25 Edge with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 underscores Corning and Samsung’s commitment to meeting the evolving needs of consumers worldwide.”

“All-Day Battery” Claimed in Leaked Marketing Materials

The Galaxy S25 Edge is special for being a super-slim phone. And while reports suggest it packs only a 3,900mAh battery to maintain the slim profile, Samsung’s leaked marketing claims it will offer “all-day battery” life.

image

Caption – “All-Day Battery” promoted in Galaxy S25 Edge’s leaked marketing material but with a disclaimer. (Image credit – Android Headlines)

This claim comes from leaked images shared by Android Headlines. However, the claim comes with a small disclaimer, which makes us take the information with a grain of salt.

The disclaimer reads, “Actual battery life varies by network environment, feature and apps used, frequency of calls and messages, the number of times charged, and many other factors. Estimated against the average usage profile compiled by UX Connect Research. Independently assessed by UX Connect Research between 2025.03.12-2025.03.20 in US with pre-release versions of SM-5937 under default setting using LTE and 5G Sub6 networks. Not tested under 5G mmWave network.”

Interestingly, the S25 Edge has a smaller battery than the base Galaxy S25, despite having a larger and sharper display. It’ll be interesting to see how real-world performance measures up.

Samsung-Made Displays for Foldable iPhone Could Be More Advanced Than Galaxy Z Fold

0

Highlights

  • Apple’s foldable iPhone will use advanced Samsung-made displays that are reportedly even better than those in Samsung’s own Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
  • The touch sensor will be integrated into the panel itself to make the screen about 19% thinner and reducing overall weight.
  • Apple is applying for branding trademarks for this display technology.

We all know that Apple is working on its first foldable iPhone and interestingly, the folding screen for the iPhone fold will be made by Samsung Display. A new rumour now suggests that the screens Samsung is making for Apple will be even more advanced than the ones used in its own Galaxy Z Fold lineup.

According to the leak, the touch layer in the iPhone Fold’s display will be built right into the panel itself. This design makes the screen about 19% thinner and also helps reduce the overall weight. Here’s what we know.

Samsung Is Making Advanced Displays for Apple’s Foldable

Apple is known for taking its time with new technology. Instead of being the first to launch, Apple waits until it feels the tech is polished enough to deliver the best experience.

That’s apparently why Apple hasn’t released a foldable iPhone yet. One of the key issues was the visible crease that shows up on most foldable screens. Apple wasn’t happy with that and reportedly asked its display partners to fix the problem. Back in February, Samsung was said to have finally met Apple’s expectations.

Leaker yeux1122 has now revealed that Apple wanted the display to be slimmer for a more compact fold. Samsung has now reportedly delivered on that, too.

Yeux1122, in their recent Korean blog Naver, explains, “This is information about the internal display that is scheduled to be installed on Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Equipped with a new process display that has never been installed in existing Samsung products. In particular, the reason why the thickness of Fold 7 has been rapidly reduced is seen internally as preparation for Apple’s display.

“As the touch sensor is built into the screen [rather than being a separate layer], the thickness is reduced by about 19% and the weight is lighter than the Z-fold parts. In addition, the new process and device improvement have greatly improved color reproduction and brightness,” the blog also added.

The new display is said to be thinner than anything we’ve seen on a Galaxy Z Fold so far. However, tipster Ice Universe has claimed that the upcoming 7th-generation Galaxy Z Fold will be the world’s thinnest foldable phone. Ice Universe recently wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “The Galaxy Z Fold7 will be the thinnest folding machine in the world at that time, 3.9mm after unfolding, 8.9mm after folding, with a battery of 4400mAh.”

That means the foldable iPhone might be using the same advanced display tech or possibly something even better.

Meanwhile, tipster yeux1122 also noted that Apple is applying for new branding trademarks for this display technology. That might hint it’s even more advanced than the one coming in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Apple often uses flashy names like “Retina,” “Liquid Retina,” “Super Retina,” “Super Retina XDR,” “Ultra Retina XDR” and “ProMotion” for its displays, even if the tech behind them isn’t totally unique.

FAQs

Q1. What makes the foldable iPhone’s display more advanced than the Galaxy Z Fold?

Answer. The display for the foldable iPhone, made by Samsung, features a built-in touch sensor rather than a separate layer. This design reduces thickness by about 19% and decreases weight while improving color reproduction and brightness.

Q2. Why has Apple delayed releasing a foldable iPhone?

Answer. Apple takes its time to refine technology before launching new products. One key issue was the visible crease on foldable screens, which Apple asked its display partners to improve. Samsung reportedly met Apple’s expectations earlier this year.

Q3. Is Apple branding this new iPhone Fold display technology?

Answer. Yes, Apple is reportedly applying for new branding trademarks for this display technology, hinting that it might be even more advanced than the one in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7.

According to the FCC listing details spotted by Xpertpick first, the Galaxy Watch 8 appears with model numbers SM-L335U and SM-L335F, confirming these are LTE variants of the device.

The certification reveals the watch will support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3 LE, GNSS, NFC, Wi-Fi Hotspot for sharing cellular data and Wi-Fi Direct for quick data transfers between devices.

As for charging, the label shows 10W charging support (5V/2A) and it will work with a wireless charger (model number EP-OL300). The battery for the Watch 8 was previously seen on Safety Korea with the model number EB-BL330ABY. It also appeared on TÜV Rheinland confirming a 435mAh capacity, which is just 10mAh more than the Galaxy Watch 7’s 425mAh battery.

Moreover, recent Bluetooth SIG and Safety Korea listings suggest that Samsung might bring back the Classic model, which was last seen with the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic in 2023.

One UI 8 Watch Update – What To Expect?

In addition to hardware leaks, a look at Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8 Watch software has also surfaced online. Leaked by @DevOfIpos on X (formerly Twitter), the new update includes new colourful icons across Samsung apps matching the One UI 7 aesthetic.

It also suggests Google Gemini replacing Google Assistant, confirming earlier reports that Gemini will come pre-installed on Wear OS 6.

Android Authority accessed the update files and found hints of “Gemini Actions.” These can help users move calendar events, summarise emails and more. All of which essentially function like an upgraded Assistant.

Another exciting feature is the “Antioxidant Index”, which Samsung teased earlier this year. It uses the health sensor on the Galaxy Watch to non-invasively measure beta-carotene levels, helping users tailor their nutrition. Samsung is clear that this is not meant to diagnose medical conditions.

<string name=”antioxidant_guide_text_one”>To measure, press the pad of your thumb firmly on the center of the sensor on the back of your watch.</string>

<string name=”antioxidant_guide_text_two”>You can check measurement progress on your phone.</string>

<string name=”antioxidant_help_measure_guide”>For more accurate results, measure with your thumb, not your wrist, and space out measurements by at least 10 seconds.</string>

<string name=”antioxidant_how_to_measure_guide_text_two”>Place your thumb on the sensor and press firmly.</string>

<string name=”antioxidant_help_description_text”>”Keep in mind that antioxidant index measurement is for fitness and wellness only, not for the diagnosis or treatment of any medical condition. If you’re concerned about your antioxidant level, be sure to see a medical professional.”</string>
