Nothing Phone (3a) Series Makes An Appearance At MWC 2025, Global Launch Today!

0

Highlights

  • The Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro were showcased at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, confirming their design and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset.
  • The Phone (3a) Pro rumoured to feature a periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom and 60x “ultra” zoom.
  • The Nothing Phone (3a) series is set to use AI-powered image processing.

The Nothing Phone (3a) and (3a) Pro are launching today, but the company couldn’t resist one last teaser. The two phones were showcased at Qualcomm’s booth at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, confirming their design once again.

According to recent GSMArena report, both Nothing flagship phones were displayed at Qualcomm’s booth and thus, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset was the main highlight.

Here’s what we know.

Nothing Phone (3a) Series Big Camera Upgrades Teased

Nothing’s co-founder Akis Evangelidis was present at the booth, hinting at “big upgrades in the camera department” for the new mid-range devices.

image

A closer look at Nothing Phone (3a) Series phones during MWC 2025. (Image credit – GSMArena)

Leaked details suggest the Phone (3a) Pro could feature a periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom and an impressive 60x “ultra” zoom. If true, this would be a major step up for Nothing, which has previously only offered main and ultrawide cameras on its phones.

The inclusion of a 3x optical zoom also hints at a larger sensor size, which could put it ahead of some competitors. For instance, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra still relies on a 1/3.52″ (10MP) sensor for its 3x telephoto, while other models in the S25 series use an even smaller 1/3.94″ sensor.

In fact, the Galaxy S25 Ultra ranked 24th in DxOMark’s camera test.

Like most modern smartphones, the Nothing Phone (3a) series is expected to use AI-powered image processing. Some competitors, like the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, automatically enable AI enhancements at 20x zoom. Nothing is still a relatively new player in the smartphone space, so it will be interesting to see how its AI-powered photography stacks up against industry giants.

The wait won’t be long as the Nothing Phone (3a) series is officially launching today at 3.30 PM IST.

Nothing Phone (3a) Series – Launch Time

Lenovo’s Codename Flip Laptop. (Image credit – Sam Rutherford for Engadget)Lenovo isn’t done experimenting with futuristic laptops. Following its rollable-screen laptop, the company is showing off a new proof-of-concept device at MWC 2025: the ThinkBook codename Flip AI PC.

Unlike the ThinkBook Rollable, which extends vertically, the Flip’s OLED display folds outward, transforming a 13-inch screen into an 18.1-inch panel in seconds.

The versatile design lets you –

  • Use it vertically for more screen space
  • Flip it into tablet mode
  • Set it up in tent mode for presentations

But it’s not just about the display, Lenovo has also introduced the Smart ForcePad, a touchpad with a three-layer illuminated dashboard that adds customizable controls and icons.

Under the hood, the Flip packs:

  • Intel Core Ultra 7 processor
  • 32GB RAM
  • PCIe SSD storage

While this concept is exciting, there are some design challenges, like hinge stability and screen protection when folded down. For now, Lenovo has no plans to bring the Flip to production, but it’s an intriguing glimpse into the future.

Apple Likely to Announce M4 MacBook Air With M4 Chip This Week, New iPads Coming Soon

Apple is gearing up for multiple product launches with the M4 MacBook Air expected to be announced as early as this week. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, new iPad Air and entry-level iPad models are also on the way, though their release will happen slightly later.

Here’s what we know.

MacBook Air M4 Announcement On Cards

Gurman has consistently reported that Apple planned to unveil the M4 MacBook Air in March, and now that the iPhone 16e has been launched, attention is shifting to this highly anticipated MacBook update. According to his latest report, there are no delays in Apple’s schedule and an announcement is expected soon.

If the M4 MacBook Air follows the same upgrade path as the M4 MacBook Pro, we can expect:

  • A 10-core CPU (up from 8-core in the M3 model)
  • Up to 32GB of RAM (vs. 24GB in M3)
  • Faster memory bandwidth (120GB/s vs. 100GB/s)
  • 12MP Center Stage webcam
  • Potentially a nano-texture display option for reduced glare
  • Slightly better battery life

With these upgrades, the M3 MacBook Air is likely to be phased out, while the M2 model may stick around as a more affordable option. Amazon is already discounting the M3 MacBook Air below the M2 version, which suggests Apple is clearing out stock ahead of the M4 launch.

New iPads Also on the Way

Apple is also preparing to refresh its iPad lineup, though not as soon as the MacBook Air. Gurman reports that stock for the entry-level iPad and M2 iPad Air is running low, usually a sign that updated models are coming.

Expected upgrades include:

  • iPad 11: Likely to feature an A17 Pro chip, bringing Apple Intelligence support to the most affordable iPad.
  • iPad Air: Rumoured to get an M3 chip and possibly an updated Magic Keyboard.

While we’ll see all these new products this spring, the MacBook Air M4 will arrive first followed by iPad announcements later.

FAQs

Q1. When is the M4 MacBook Air expected to be announced?

Answer. Apple is expected to announce the M4 MacBook Air this week, with no delays in the schedule.

Q2. What are the expected specifications of the M4 MacBook Air?

Answer. The M4 MacBook Air is expected to have a 10-core CPU, up to 32GB of RAM, faster memory bandwidth, a 12MP Center Stage webcam and potentially a nano-texture display option.

Q3. What new iPads are Apple preparing to release?

Siri’s Big AI Upgrade To Make Response ‘More conversational’ in iOS 19 Delayed, Could Arrive in iOS 20

0

Highlights

  • The introduction of a more conversational AI-powered Siri in iOS 19 has been delayed.
  • It is now expected to arrive with iOS 20 at the earliest.
  • Despite the delay, Apple will release three new Siri features with iOS 18.5 in May.
  • Significant AI advancements may not be seen until iOS 20, expected in June 2027.

The next big Siri upgrade has been reportedly delayed. (Image credit – Siri)

Apple’s ambitious plans for an AI-powered Siri in iOS 19 are facing delays. According to Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter, Apple is still set to roll out its new “LLM Siri” system and a unified backend for handling both simple and complex requests. This is why the more conversational Siri experience, similar to ChatGPT, is running behind schedule.

Here’s our full report.

More Conversational Siri Arrival Delayed

Initially, Apple planned to introduce a smarter and more natural Siri alongside iOS 19.

However, Gurman reports that this upgrade won’t be ready in time for the expected June announcement. Employees in Apple’s AI division now believe that this enhanced Siri may not reach users until iOS 20 “at best.”

Despite these setbacks, Apple is still on track to release three new Siri features with iOS 18.5 in May. While these improvements may bring some enhancements, they won’t deliver the fully conversational experience that Apple had initially aimed for.

Apple Intelligence in iOS 19

Apple’s AI push, branded as Apple Intelligence, also appears to be struggling. According to Gurman, internal data suggests that real-world usage of Apple Intelligence features is “extremely low,” indicating that current capabilities aren’t resonating with users.

Unfortunately, iOS 19 won’t bring major consumer-facing AI updates, as Apple is still focused on delivering previously announced features. Gurman explains, “Everything I’ve heard suggests that iOS 19 will not include any significant consumer-facing changes to Apple Intelligence. A big reason for that is the amount of time Apple is still spending working to get the features announced last year out the door. It’s challenging to move on to next year’s release before this year’s operating system updates have rolled out to customers.”

If Apple remains on this timeline, significant Apple Intelligence advancements may not arrive until iOS 20, expected in June 2027. While Apple is known for taking its time to refine new features, this delay means users will have to wait much longer for a true AI-driven Siri experience.

FAQs

Q1. When is the more conversational AI-powered Siri expected to arrive?

Answer. The introduction of a more conversational AI-powered Siri in iOS 19 has been delayed and is now expected to arrive with iOS 20 at the earliest.

Q2. What new Siri features will be released with iOS 18.5?

Answer. Apple will release three new Siri features with iOS 18.5 in May, though these won’t provide the fully conversational experience initially planned.

Q3. What is the status of Apple Intelligence in iOS 19?

Answer. Internal data suggests low real-world usage of Apple Intelligence features, and significant AI advancements may not be seen until iOS 20, expected in June 2027.
