200MP camera phone likely from the house of Xiaomi

0

With camera-centric phones becoming the order of the day, Chinese tech major Xiaomi is reportedly planning to take this trend a notch higher with a smartphone having a 200MP camera sensor. 108MP is currently the largest camera sensor that a smartphone offers.

If the reports are to be believed, the sensor will come from Samsung and is expected to have 0.64um unit pixel, but far less than the 1.4Im unit pixel area of aaISOCELL GN2.

A well-known leakster had recently revealed that the South Korean tech major Samsung is planning to launch a new innovative sensor this year under the company’s ISOCELL that will have a 200MP image sensor. According to reports, Samsung has also hinted that it is developing a 200MP image sensor as the successor of the 108MP sensor found in the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Although it’s not yet confirmed, Samsung is likely to use the new 200MP sensor on the upcoming Galaxy S22 series flagship smartphones.
