Users can also record 4K videos for over three hours, even in low-light conditions, and enjoy stable performance during multitasking and gaming sessions.

The company’s “Six Zero Compromises” initiative ensures lag-free operation, eliminating latency, flicker, crashes, mislaunches, and freezes, across tasks such as scrolling, multitasking, and photo capture.

Connectivity and Ecosystem

ColorOS 16 expands its interoperability beyond Android devices, enhancing integration with iPhones and Macs for a unified ecosystem.

  • Phone Connect – Lets users sync calls, messages, and notifications between OPPO and iPhone devices, along with Touch to Share for instant media transfer.
  • PC Connect – Offers screen mirroring and clipboard sharing, allowing users to copy content on one device and paste it on another seamlessly.

Aqua Dynamics

The new Aqua Dynamics feature delivers live, interactive on-screen updates, displaying real-time information such as sports scores, ride progress, countdowns, and other alerts directly within the interface.

AI-Powered Features

AI Mind Space acts as a personal hub for memory and organisation. It includes Smart Collections that automatically sort saved items, and an AI Mind Assistant that provides contextual answers and suggestions.

Google Gemini Integration through Gemini Live allows real-time interaction with Google’s multimodal assistant. Users can share their screen or camera feed to receive contextual insights, compare products, or make collaborative decisions.

Elon Musk’s xAI Unveils Grokipedia v0.1 – An AI-Powered, Open-Source Alternative to Wikipedia

0

Highlights

  • Grokipedia v0.1 is xAI’s open-source, fully AI-managed alternative to Wikipedia, powered by the Grok model and launching with over 885,000 articles.
  • Users can’t directly edit entries but may submit corrections via Grok assistant, developers can freely access and adapt the platform’s framework.
  • While praised for its clean design and concise summaries, concerns remain over transparency and bias.

image

Caption – Grokipedia v0.1 is now available online.

Elon Musk’s xAI has officially launched Grokipedia v0.1, an artificial intelligence–driven encyclopedia designed to rival Wikipedia. The platform leverages the Grok AI model to automatically generate, verify, and update a vast collection of factual information. Here’s all you need to know about this new launch.

What Is Grokipedia v0.1?

Described as a fully AI-managed alternative to Wikipedia, Grokipedia replaces community editors with xAI’s Grok model. It independently creates and maintains articles for accuracy and efficiency. In short, Grokipedia v0.1 is a major step toward Musk’s vision of AI-managed knowledge sharing.

Announcing the launch on X (formerly Twitter), Musk claimed that Grokipedia is “better than Wikipedia even at 0.1”, adding that Version 1.0 will be “ten times better.” The first version reportedly contains around 885,279 articles, all generated using xAI’s large-scale computing systems.

Grokipedia v0.1 – What Can It Do?

Grokipedia’s interface features a clean, minimalist homepage titled “Grokipedia v0.1,” centred around a simple search bar for easy topic exploration. The platform focuses on concise, well-cited summaries that are automatically updated using AI.

Unlike Wikipedia’s open-editing structure, Grokipedia does not allow direct edits from users. Instead, readers can submit corrections or update requests via Grok, xAI’s conversational assistant, which then reviews and processes the changes.

Another major highlight is that Grokipedia is completely open-source, allowing developers and researchers to freely access, use, and adapt its underlying framework.

Much of Grokipedia’s initial content is adapted from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license. However, the absence of inline citations has sparked some concerns about transparency.

Reactions

Early reactions have been mixed. While many users appreciate its neutral tone and concise presentation, others have criticised it for possible AI bias, missing context, and what they perceive as Musk-influenced framing.

Musk previously explained that the platform’s launch was delayed to “purge out the propaganda” and ensure balanced representation across topics. Despite a few early bugs, tech analysts view Grokipedia as a bold experiment in AI-driven information creation.

Built under xAI’s mission to promote truthful, accessible, and unbiased knowledge, Grokipedia could redefine how factual information is curated online. Its future success, however, will depend on how effectively it handles credibility, transparency, and accuracy as it evolves.

Availability

Grokipedia is live now at Grokipedia.com. Users can sign in using their X accounts to browse entries or submit correction requests. As of now, no dedicated Android or iOS apps have been released by xAI.

FAQs

Q1. What is Grokipedia v0.1?

Answer. Grokipedia v0.1 is an AI-powered, open-source encyclopedia developed by xAI. It uses the Grok model to automatically generate, verify, and update factual articles, replacing traditional community editing.

Q2. Can users edit articles on Grokipedia?

Answer. No, Grokipedia does not support direct user edits. Instead, users can submit corrections or update requests via Grok, xAI’s conversational assistant, which reviews and processes them.

Q3. How does Grokipedia differ from Wikipedia?

There is never a time throughout the year when we are not hearing reports about the upcoming iPhone. You might think iPhone 17 Series has just launched, the fact is next year’s iPhones are already making headlines.

A new leak has revealed early design details for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 17e, shedding light on what users can expect from next year’s iPhone lineup. The information comes from a reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) via 9to5Mac, who just shared insights about the iPhone 18 Pro’s variable aperture camera upgrade. Here’s what we know.

iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 17e Design Details (Leaked)

According to DCS’s response to a comment, the iPhone 18 Pro will retain the same rear camera design as the current iPhone 17 Pro. This means the full-width camera “plateau” introduced with the 17 Pro series will carry over to the next generation.

While the overall layout may remain unchanged, the leaker hinted that the glass cutout below the camera plateau could feature a slightly different transparent design. This suggests subtle aesthetic refinements along with new colour options for 2026.

Meanwhile, DCS also shared new information about the iPhone 17e, Apple’s upcoming budget model expected to launch earlier next year. The device will reportedly feature a Dynamic Island display, replacing the standard notch design seen on the iPhone 16e.

However, the leaker added that the display will still be limited to a 60Hz refresh rate, meaning ProMotion support won’t be available on this model just yet.

This aligns with Apple’s recent decision to bring ProMotion technology to the base iPhone lineup for the first time with the iPhone 17 series. Based on this trend, it may take another year or more before Apple’s adaptive refresh technology makes its way to the ‘e’ variant.

When asked about the standard iPhone 18, DCS clarified that he hasn’t come across any design specifications for that model so far, only for the iPhone 18 Pro.

Overall, the leak suggests that Apple’s 2026 iPhone lineup will focus on refined design continuity for the Pro series and gradual feature upgrades for its more affordable models.

Meta’s Threads is adding a new feature called “ghost posts,” which lets users share temporary posts that automatically disappear after 24 hours. The feature is designed to encourage more spontaneous and low-pressure interactions. Here’s more on the new feature.

Meta announced the new feature in a blog post titled “Introducing Disappearing Posts on Threads. As clearly indicated in the blog post title, the new ghost posts feature allows users to share content that’s visible for only one day before being archived.

Unlike regular posts, replies to ghost posts are handled differently. When other users on either mobile or desktop respond, their replies go directly to the DMs (direct messages) rather than showing up in the public feed. Beneath each post, people can still see smiley-faced icons indicating that others have liked or replied, but only the original poster can view the exact number of interactions and who engaged.

After 24 hours, ghost posts disappear from public view but remain accessible to their creator in an “Archived” section, found within the main settings menu.

Speaking to TechCrunch, Meta said the new feature aims to make users more comfortable with casual and short-lived content, similar to the success of Stories on Instagram and Facebook. The company hopes ghost posts will inspire users to share more unfiltered thoughts, engage in live conversations, and experiment with new types of real-time content.

How To Use the Ghost Post Feature on Threads?

To create a ghost post, users can tap the “ghost” icon on the app’s compose screen while posting from a mobile device. Once published, ghost posts appear in others’ timelines surrounded by a dotted conversation bubble, making them easy to distinguish from regular posts.

According to certain reports, users’ messaging preferences do affect the feature.

If message requests are turned off, only people you follow can reply to your ghost posts. If message requests are on, replies from non-followers will appear in your message request inbox. These options can be managed through the profile’s drop-down menu in the top right corner.

Interestingly, Twitter (now X) tried something similar in 2020 with a feature called Fleets, which displayed disappearing content at the top of users’ feeds. However, it was discontinued the following year due to low user engagement.

For Threads, however, Meta believes there’s still strong potential.

With over 400 million monthly users, Threads is Meta’s rival to Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter). The app continues to evolve rapidly with new features aimed at improving engagement and content variety. The platform has been expanding steadily since its July 2023 launch, adding features such as custom feeds, direct messaging, fediverse integration (enabling cross-platform interactions with networks like Mastodon), longer text posts up to 10,000 characters, spoiler-hiding tools, and interest-based communities.

FAQs

Q1. What are ghost posts on Threads?

Answer. Ghost posts are temporary posts that disappear after 24 hours. They’re designed for casual, low-pressure sharing and remain accessible only to the creator in an archived section.

Q2. How do replies to ghost posts work?

Answer. Replies don’t appear publicly. Instead, they go directly to the original poster’s DMs. Only the poster can see who interacted and how many replies or likes were received.

Q3. How can I create a ghost post on Threads?

Answer. Tap the ghost icon on the compose screen in the mobile app. Once posted, ghost posts appear with a dotted bubble and follow your messaging preferences for reply visibility.

X to Retire Twitter.com Domain by November 10, Users with Security Keys Must Re-Enroll to Avoid Lockout

0

Highlights

  • X will fully retire the twitter.com domain by November 10.
  • Users relying on hardware security keys or passkeys for 2FA must re-enroll their credentials under x.com to avoid account lockout.
  • The change is technical, not security-related, and ensures authentication systems align with the new domain; other 2FA methods remain unaffected.

The social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) has announced that it will retire the twitter.com domain. This marks another major step in its ongoing rebranding under Elon Musk. The company has issued a warning to users who rely on hardware security keys or passkeys to update their account settings before November 10, or risk losing access. Here’s all you need to know.

Twitter Dot Com Domain is Retiring

This move came to light first when a post from X’s Safety account explained that users who use a hardware security key for two-factor authentication (2FA) will need to re-enrol their credentials within the next two weeks.

“By November 10, we’re asking all accounts that use a security key as their two factor authentication (2FA) method to re-enroll their key to continue accessing X,” wrote X Safety account.

Initially, X did not provide a clear reason for this sudden requirement, prompting speculation about a potential security breach. However, the company later clarified that this change is purely procedural and not linked to any data compromise.

According to X, the update is necessary to ensure that security keys tied to twitter.com are properly associated with x.com, as the platform transitions domains. The company emphasised that this adjustment is a technical requirement and part of “retiring the last remnants of Twitter.”

The domain switch has already caused a few glitches. X’s automatic system for converting “twitter.com” links to “x.com” within posts reportedly led to some of the company’s own tweets becoming nonsensical.

For most people, the domain change will be seamless. But users who log in using physical security keys like YubiKeys or rely on passkeys for password-less authentication must act promptly to avoid being locked out after the cutoff date.

How to Re-enrol Your X Account?

Check your login method and if you’re using a hardware security key or passkey, it’s likely still linked to twitter.com.

image

Caption – How to re-enrol your account?

To re-enrol your security key, go to Settings & Privacy → Security and Account Access → Two-Factor Authentication, and re-add your method under x.com. Make sure your password manager or browser now points to x.com instead of twitter.com.

This move is part of Musk’s broader plan to complete the platform’s transformation from Twitter to X, following his acquisition of the company in October 2022. Since then, X has undergone extensive changes in branding, features, and policies. X’s move to fully retire the twitter.com domain officially closes one of the final chapters in the platform’s transition from Twitter to X.

FAQs

Q1. Why is X asking users to re-enrol their security keys before November 10?

Answer. Security keys are currently tied to the twitter.com domain. As X transitions to x.com, users must re-enrol their keys to avoid being locked out after November 10.

Q2. Does Twitter Domain retire change affect all two-factor authentication methods?

Answer. No, only hardware security keys and passkeys are affected. Authenticator apps and other 2FA methods remain unchanged.

Q3. How can users re-enrol their security keys on X?

Answer. Go to Settings & Privacy → Security and Account Access → Two-Factor Authentication, and re-add your security key under the x.com domain.

A new leak from China suggests that Apple is preparing to introduce variable aperture camera technology in its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series. This isn’t the first time we have heard this and if true, this would mark a major leap in iPhone photography. Here’s the full update.

iPhone 18 Pro To Offer Variable Aperture

The latest update on next-generation iPhone camera tech comes from the popular Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station based on supply chain information. DCS claims that both iPhone 18 Pro models will feature the new variable aperture setup on the main rear camera, known as Apple’s 48MP Fusion camera.

However, some reports suggest that the feature might end up being exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The leaker also notes that both the main and telephoto lenses will have larger apertures for improved low-light performance.

A variable aperture lens allows the opening to expand for brighter, detailed low-light photos or narrow down for sharper images in bright conditions. This setup would give users manual control over aperture settings, similar to professional DSLR cameras, enabling creative control over background blur and focus precision. The feature is previously seen in select Android flagships.

Until now, Apple’s flagship phones including the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro have used a fixed ƒ/1.78 aperture for their main cameras. Introducing a variable aperture system would be a first for iPhones and a major enhancement for mobile photography enthusiasts.

Previous Leaks With Similar Update

As we mentioned in the beginning, this isn’t the first mention of such a development.

In November 2024, renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had already hinted that the iPhone 18 Pro models would adopt variable aperture lenses. Earlier rumours had also suggested that at least one iPhone 17 model would feature this system, but it never materialised. The iPhone 18 Pro lineup is expected to launch in September 2026.

Digital Chat Station has a reliable track record when it comes to Apple leaks, having accurately revealed details about the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus sensors and even the iPhone 12 display design years in advance.

Upcoming iPhone 18 Models – What Else We Know?

Beyond the camera, the iPhone 18 Pro series is said to maintain a triple rear camera setup similar to the iPhone 17 Pro, but Apple may experiment with a semi-transparent rear panel that subtly exposes elements like the MagSafe charging coil. The phones are also tipped to include a stainless-steel vapour chamber cooling system, continuing the thermal management system introduced in the iPhone 17 Pro lineup.

As for display technology, reports suggest the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could come with 6.27-inch and 6.86-inch LTPO OLED panels, respectively, boasting 1.5K resolution and adopting HIAA (Hole-in-Active-Area) technology. This could allow Apple to hide the Face ID sensors beneath the screen, leaving only the selfie camera visible for a more immersive display experience.

However, some conflicting leaks claim that Apple may simply shrink the Dynamic Island instead of removing it completely.

The iPhone 18 Pro lineup will reportedly debut with Apple’s next-generation A20 chip, built on TSMC’s second-generation 2nm (N2) process. This new architecture promises improved power efficiency and thermal management through Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM) integration, allowing the SoC and DRAM to work more efficiently while optimising power usage for Apple Intelligence tasks.

Launch Timeline

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone 18 Air, and iPhone 18 Fold in September 2026, while the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e models are rumoured to arrive in the first half of 2027.

Previous reports have also hinted at a staggered launch schedule with the premium models debuting in fall and the base variants following later, marking a shift from Apple’s usual simultaneous iPhone releases.

FAQs

Q1. What is the major camera upgrade expected in the iPhone 18 Pro series?

Answer. Apple is reportedly introducing a variable aperture system for the main 48MP Fusion camera, allowing users to manually adjust aperture settings for better low-light performance and creative control, similar to DSLR cameras. This feature may be exclusive to the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Q2. What other design and display changes are rumoured for the iPhone 18 Pro models?

Answer. The iPhone 18 Pro series may feature a semi-transparent rear panel, a stainless-steel vapour chamber for cooling, and LTPO OLED displays with HIAA tech to hide Face ID sensors beneath the screen.

Q3. When is the iPhone 18 Pro expected to launch, and what chip will it use?

Answer. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to launch in September 2026, powered by Apple’s A20 chip built on TSMC’s second-gen 2nm process, offering improved power efficiency and thermal management.

Apple could be gearing up for a major upgrade to its iPad software lineup. According to a new report, the company is working on releasing four new professional-grade apps for iPad. Here’s what we know about the news apps so far.

New Pro Apps for iPad

According to a recent MacRumors report, their contributor Aaron Perris has reportedly discovered new App Store IDs linked to these upcoming apps.

The news apps include Pixelmator Pro, MainStage, Motion, and Compressor. These additions would join Apple’s existing Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, both of which were introduced for iPad last year.

Compressor is Apple’s specialised media encoding and delivery software that allows creators to fine-tune how video and audio files are exported. Motion, on the other hand, serves as Apple’s motion graphics application used for designing titles, transitions, and advanced visual effects. Both tools are designed to complement Final Cut Pro, making them essential parts of a professional video editing workflow.

MainStage functions as a companion app to Logic Pro, aimed at live performers. It allows musicians and vocalists to set up and customise on-stage instruments and vocal configurations in real time. Meanwhile, Pixelmator Pro is expected to bring advanced image editing features to iPad.

In November last year, Apple acquired Pixelmator and made available a simpler version of the app on iPad. Reports suggest that now the upcoming Pixelmator Pro will likely deliver a more powerful experience, comparable to the macOS version.

Pixelmator Pro, Compressor, Motion, and MainStage are currently available for one-time purchase on the Mac. Subscription prices range from $29.99 to $49.99. As of now, it is not certain whether the iPad versions of these apps would need a subscription or not.

Launch Timeline

Although there’s no official release date yet, this development could mark a significant step in expanding Apple’s pro-level app ecosystem on iPad. The timing also aligns with the recent debut of the M5 iPad Pro, suggesting that Apple is continuing to position its tablets as true productivity and creative tools.

Interestingly, Apple did not unveil these apps alongside its new iPad hardware, a contrast to last year when the M4 iPad Pro was launched in tandem with Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro. This time, it seems Apple’s software and hardware rollouts were not perfectly in sync.

FAQs

Q1. Which new professional apps is Apple planning to launch for iPad?

Answer. Apple is reportedly preparing to release Pixelmator Pro, MainStage, Motion, and Compressor for iPad, expanding its pro app suite beyond Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro.

Q2. What are the functions of Motion and Compressor on iPad?

Answer. Motion is used for creating titles, transitions, and visual effects, while Compressor helps fine-tune video and audio file export, both complement Final Cut Pro.

Q3. Is Pixelmator Pro different from the current iPad version?

Answer. Yes, Pixelmator Pro is expected to offer advanced image editing features similar to its macOS version, unlike the simpler version Apple released after acquiring Pixelmator.
