Honor Robot Phone Officially Launched in China With 200MP Titanium Gimbal Camera

0

Highlights

  • Honor Robot Phone launches in China featuring the world’s smallest titanium 4D gimbal system with 200MP AI‑powered camera and robotic functions.
  • Specs include Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 6.3″ LTPO OLED 120Hz display, 7,060mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, up to 16GB RAM/1TB storage.
  • Price starts at CNY 9,999 for the base 12GB+512GB variant.

Honor has finally launched its much-hyped Honor Robot Phone in China after first teasing it way back in October last year. The device has appeared in several leaks and teasers sine then, while Honor has also showcased an early prototype at CES. Its biggest highlight of this unique smartphone is a mechanical gimbal camera built directly into the rear of the smartphone.

And now, the company has finally revealed the complete specifications, pricing and availability details of the Robot Phone.

Honor Robot Phone With Tiny Titanium Gimbal

The Robot Phone is a flagship Android smartphone built around its unique gimbal camera system. Honor says developing the mechanism involved more than 60 manufacturing processes and over 100 precision components.

The gimbal system is also backed by more than 100 patents. Honor claims it is the industry’s smallest titanium gimbal system and is 65 percent smaller than traditional gimbals such as those found in products like DJI’s Osmo Pocket series. The company describes it as the industry’s smallest 4D gimbal system.

At the heart of the mechanism is an ultralight 2.6-gram titanium gimbal motor that is only 6mm thick. Despite the complicated camera mechanism, the complete system fits within the phone’s 9.6mm-thick body. The Robot Phone weighs 248 grams, however, making it considerably heavier than many conventional smartphones.

200MP Gimbal Camera with AI tracking

The main gimbal camera uses a large 1/1.28-inch sensor with 200-megapixel resolution and an f/1.6 aperture. It supports video recording at up to 4K resolution and works with Honor’s H1 imaging chip.

Users can also control certain gimbal functions through voice commands. For example, they can ask the phone to rotate the gimbal or focus on a particular point.

The camera system also uses AI-powered subject tracking with real-time auto-framing and tracking features designed for vlogging, livestreaming and video calls.

Honor has designed the gimbal to do more than simply help users record videos. The company has integrated it with its Yoyo AI assistant, which allows the Robot Phone to observe and interact with its surroundings and carry out certain tasks on its own.

Honor has also given the gimbal more than 100 facial expressions and movements including nodding and peeking. It can even dance along with music, adding to the phone’s robot-like personality.

First Honor Phone from ARRI Partnership

The Robot Phone is also the first product to arrive as part of Honor’s partnership with ARRI, the renowned German cinema equipment company.

As part of the collaboration, the phone supports native Log-C3 video encoding and LUT colour grading with the latter processed directly on the device. It also includes a dedicated cinema mode designed to reproduce the visual style and feel of ARRI cinema cameras.

The gimbal camera is joined by two other rear cameras. These include a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera that also works as a macro camera.

Honor Robot Phone – Other Key Specifications

Moving beyond the cameras, the Honor Robot Phone features a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2,640 x 1,216 pixels. The panel supports a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, allowing it to adjust according to the content on screen. The display can reach a peak local brightness of 6,800 nits. Honor has also added its AR anti-reflective coating to reduce glare and improve visibility.

The Honor Robot Phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

On the software side, the smartphone runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.

It gets a 7,060mAh silicon-carbon battery with support for 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Honor Robot Phone – Price and Availability

The Honor Robot Phone sale in China is scheduled to start from August 18. It will be offered in Silver and Grey colour options in China.

As for China pricing, the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced at CNY 9,999 (around $1,482), while the higher-end 16GB RAM + 1TB storage version costs CNY 12,999 (around $1,927).

Honor has not yet revealed when the Robot Phone will be launched in other markets.

Lava Virat Curve 5G Could Be the Next Mid-Ranger in Lava Virat Series

0

Highlights

  • Lava is reportedly working on a new mid-range smartphone, possibly called the Lava Virat Curve 5G.
  • The device has appeared on the IMEI database and tipped to use MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset and run Android 16.
  • Lava is yet to officially confirm the smartphone as of now.

It appears Lava is getting ready for a new smartphone for its Virat series and it may be called the Lava Virat Curve 5G. According to an exclusive report by PassionateGeekz, the company appears to be working on a new device that could bring a curved display to the Virat lineup.

Lava has previously indicated that the Virat series will cover both the budget and mid-budget segments. And if reports about Virat Curve 5G are true, this could be positioned higher in the series.

Lava Virat Curve 5G Spotted in IMEI

The upcoming Lava curved smartphone has reportedly appeared on the IMEI database with the listing LXX529 and has also surfaced on Geekbench. These appearances provide an early indication of what Lava could have planned for its smartphone lineup in 2026.

According to the report, the device is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset and could run Android 16 out of the box. If these details are accurate, the phone could offer a more capable hardware package than Lava’s entry-level offerings.

For now, details about the display size, cameras, battery, charging and pricing remain unknown. Lava has also not officially announced the smartphone or confirmed whether it will be called the Virat Curve 5G.

Lava Aura Curve 5G or Virat Curve 5G?

There is some uncertainty around the official moniker of the smartphone as well. The device has previously been associated with the Lava Aura Curve 5G name but PassionateGeekz’s latest findings suggest that it could instead launch as the Lava Virat Curve 5G.

This possible change in branding would fit with Lava’s plans to expand the Virat family across different price segments including the mid-budget category. If the information is accurate, the Virat Curve 5G could serve as the more premium model in the series, combining a curved display with a more upscale design.

Since the final retail name has not been officially confirmed by Lava yet, we will have to wait for more concrete reports to know more.

The latest certification comes after earlier reports pointed towards the development of another P4-series model. Here’s more on what we know.

The Realme P4s Lite has been spotted on the BIS certification database with the model number RMX5398. The listing does not mention any hardware details or other specifications, but BIS certification is an important requirement for smartphones launching in India.

Realme has not officially confirmed the device or revealed a launch date. More certifications in the coming days could provide more information about the phone before its official announcement.

Realme P4s Lite Expected Specifications

There is still very little information about the hardware of the upcoming smartphone. According to the earlier report, the Realme P4s Lite could be available in two configurations including 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. The phone is also expected to come in Moonlight Silver and Nebula Black colour options.

If that is true, it could feature a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD display, a 6,300mAh battery and a Unisoc T7250 chipset. The phone could also carry an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.

Poco appears to be preparing to introduce the Poco X8 5G in global markets. The company has seemingly started teasing a new X-series smartphone, suggesting that the standard Poco X8 could arrive soon. Here’s more on that.

Poco X8 5G Global Launch Officially Teased

Poco has shared a teaser on X hinting at the arrival of a new X-series smartphone. While the company has not revealed the name of the device, the timing and recent certification activity suggest that it could be the Poco X8.

The teaser image shows a smartphone in a familiar Yellow colour, a shade that has been used on several X-series models in the past. Notably, Poco has not only shied away from revealing the official name, but it is yet to officially confirm any key details or the launch date.

Poco X8 5G Expected Specifications

According to recent reports, the Poco X8 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, which was launched in China last month. If that turns out to be the case, the Poco phone could feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and could pack a huge 9,000mAh battery. For photography, the Poco X8 may feature an 8-megapixel front camera, while the rear could house a dual-camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera.

Other expected features include HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, an in-display fingerprint sensor and an IP68/69-rated body, which would provide a high level of protection against dust and water.

Earlier this year, Poco launched the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max in several markets. At the time, there was speculation that the company might skip the standard X8 model this year. However, the phone appearing on certification platforms in recent months has indicated that the device is indeed in development. The latest teaser now suggests that its launch may not be far away.

The Poco F9 series appears to be getting closer to its launch with the Poco F9 Ultra and Poco F9 Pro. The two smartphones have appeared on Singapore’s IMDA and Indonesia’s SDPPI databases recently, which suggests their global debut could happen within the next few months.

As multiple reports have already confirmed, the upcoming Poco F9 Ultra and F9 Pro are expected to be rebranded versions of the Redmi K100 Pro Max and Redmi K100 Pro, respectively. Both models have recently launched in China and you would expect the same hardware on the upcoming Poco phones as well. However, a new leak suggests that Poco could make some significant changes to the battery capacities of the two phones.

Poco F9 Ultra, F9 Pro Battery Specs

According to reliable tipster Kacper Skrzypek (via Ximitime), details found in the HyperOS code reveal the battery capacities and charging capabilities of the upcoming Poco phones.

The Poco F9 Ultra is reportedly set to feature an 8,050mAh battery, while the Poco F9 Pro could pack a 6,330mAh battery.

These capacities are notably different from those of their expected Redmi counterparts. The Redmi K100 Pro Max comes with a much larger 9,070mAh battery, while the Redmi K100 Pro features an 8,580mAh battery.

Despite the difference in battery capacities, the charging speeds are expected to remain unchanged. Both Poco models are tipped to support 100W fast charging and match the charging capabilities of the corresponding Redmi smartphones.

Other than this, the two phones are expected to retain most of the hardware specifications found on their Redmi counterparts.

Poco F9 Ultra, F9 Pro Expected Specifications

The Poco F9 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED display, while the Poco F9 Pro could come with a slightly smaller 6.59-inch screen. Both smartphones are tipped to offer a 1.5K resolution and a high 185Hz refresh rate, which could make them particularly appealing to users looking for a gaming-focused display.

Under the hood, both models are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V-series chipset. They could be offered with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and as much as 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

For selfies and video calls, the Poco F9 Ultra and F9 Pro are expected to feature a 32-megapixel front camera. The primary camera on both phones could be a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 sensor.

The camera setups are expected to differ beyond the main sensor. The Poco F9 Ultra may feature a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the Poco F9 Pro could have an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera paired with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 2.5x optical zoom.

More details about the two upcoming Poco smartphones are likely to come out before their expected launch in the coming months.

According to the latest teaser shared on X by TECH INFO @TECHINFOSOCIALS, the iQOO Neo 11 Extreme Edition will feature an all-new horizontal camera deco design. iQOO is also highlighting a 3D Flowing Light Effect, which should give the rear panel a different look as light moves across its surface.

The phone will have a matte metal mid-frame, adding a more premium feel while also helping with grip. iQOO teaser reveals the device will feature a 9.13mm large radius angle, which could mean more rounded edges and a smoother transition between the frame and the body.

6.83-inch 2K Visionox F2 Display

According to a separate post on X by Tech Home @TechHome100, the phone will feature a 6.83-inch 2K flat display supplied by Visionox, using the company’s new F2 luminescent material.

The panel will support up to 2,000 nits of HBM full-screen brightness, which should make the screen easier to view outdoors. iQOO also claims the display has low ghosting and a 98% first-frame brightness ratio to deliver more consistent brightness during use.

Despite the improvements, iQOO says the new display consumes 24% less power than the previous-generation panel.

For gamers, the Neo 11 Extreme Edition will feature an ultra-sensitive touch chip. The display can support up to 500Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate (TSR), while the instantaneous touch sampling rate can reach 4,000Hz.

The tipster has also revealed several eye-care features to the Neo 11 Extreme Edition. The phone will use a new Circularly Polarised Light Display 2.0 technology along with a 1-nit Dark Night Eye Protection mode for more comfortable viewing in very low-light conditions.

The company says the display’s harmful blue-light content is limited to 5% or less.

iQOO Neo 11 Extreme Edition – What Else We Know?

In previous updates, iQOO has already confirmed that the Neo 11 Extreme Edition will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.

The chipset choice also ties in with an earlier Geekbench listing believed to belong to the Neo 11 Extreme Edition. The listing showed an 11-core Mali-G1-Ultra GPU, rather than the standard Dimensity 9500’s 12-core configuration. This suggests that iQOO could be using a binned version of the Dimensity 9500 in the new phone.

The phone will also pack a massive 9,100mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging.

With the launch now just days away, iQOO is gradually revealing more about the Neo 11 Extreme Edition
