Elon Musk’s Starlink Internet in India Could Start at Under ₹1,000 Per Month: Reports

0

Highlights

  • SpaceX’s Starlink is expected to launch in India with promotional plans starting under ₹1,000 per month (around $10).
  • It will offer fast, low-latency internet in urban and remote areas where broadband options are limited.
  • The service is awaiting final approvals from Indian authorities before launch.

Elon Musk’s Starlink is almost ready to launch in India. The satellite internet service, which is already running in over 100 countries, aims to provide fast, low-latency internet in places where regular broadband isn’t available. While it will be available in both cities and remote areas, many are wondering about the pricing in India. According to reports, Starlink plans might start at under ₹1,000. Here’s what we know so far.

Starlink Internet in India

A recent report from The Economic Times says SpaceX is likely to introduce unlimited data plans at promotional rates of under $10 a month, that is about ₹840. This affordable pricing could help Starlink attract early users before rivals like Eutelsat OneWeb (backed by Bharti Group), Reliance Jio’s venture with SES and Globalstar enter the market.

Notably, Starlink is also said to be working with Jio and Airtel for distribution in India.

Earlier this month, Starlink received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), moving one step closer to launching. But before it can officially begin services, it still needs final approval from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) and spectrum allocation, according to PTI.

What is Starlink?

image

Starlink is a satellite-based internet service developed by SpaceX. It uses a network of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver high-speed internet directly to users. These satellites orbit much closer to Earth than traditional ones, which means faster response times and more stable connections.

This makes Starlink ideal for areas that lack proper broadband infrastructure like fibre networks or mobile towers.

How Much Does Starlink Cost?

Starlink is currently active in over 100 countries including neighbours like Bhutan and Bangladesh. It offers fast and reliable internet, especially in areas with poor or no broadband coverage. In the U.S., Starlink’s service costs around $120 a month (roughly ₹10,200).

However, India is expected to see much lower introductory pricing. That said, once promotional deals end, monthly costs could still land anywhere between ₹3,000 and ₹7,000, depending on the location and plan.

Apart from the monthly charges, users will also need to buy the Starlink hardware kit, which includes a satellite dish and Wi-Fi router. Globally, this kit is priced between $250 and $380 (around ₹21,300 to ₹32,400). There’s also a portable version called the Starlink Mini, made for on-the-go internet, which costs $599 or about ₹43,000. This upfront cost might be a hurdle for many users in India, especially since fibre broadband services here usually have low setup fees and offer extra benefits like bundled entertainment.

Still, for people in remote or rural areas who struggle with poor internet, Starlink could be the much-needed solution to finally get reliable, high-speed connectivity.

With its Indian rollout, Starlink is entering a market with huge potential. Analysts say even if the company captures just 1% of India’s broadband users, it could earn nearly $1 billion every year.

FAQs

Q1. What is Starlink and how does it work?

Answer. Starlink is a satellite-based internet service developed by SpaceX. It uses a network of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver high-speed, low-latency internet directly to users, especially in areas with poor broadband infrastructure.

Q2. How much will Starlink cost in India?

Answer. Starlink’s promotional pricing is expected to start under ₹1,000 per month (around $10). However, once these deals end, monthly costs could range between ₹3,000 and ₹7,000, depending on the location and plan.

Q3. What approvals does Starlink need before launching in India?

Answer. Starlink has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) but still requires final approval from the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) and spectrum allocation.

Pixel 10 Series Leak Hints at Bold Colour Options Like Blue, Yellow and Green for Pixel 10 and 10 Pro

0

Highlights

  • Leaks hint at four Pixel 10 shades, Obsidian (Black), Blue, Iris (Purple) and Limoncello (Yellow).
  • The Pixel 10 Pro/XL may come in Obsidian, Green, Sterling (Grey) and Porcelain (White).
  • Google may use Limoncello as a light shade, and Iris continues a Pixel 9a trend, while Blue returns after skipping last year.
  • The Pixel 10 lineup may closely resemble previous models, making colour the key differentiator.

A fresh leak has revealed the possible colour options for Google’s upcoming Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL models. Since the new generation is expected to look very similar to the current Pixel lineup, colour might be the key way Google sets them apart physically.

According to a new post by tipster Mystic Leaks on Telegram, the upcoming Pixel 10 lineup could come in four shades. Tipster Mystic Leaks earlier leaked the Material 3 Expressive redesign of the Google Clock. In the post, Mystic Leaks wrote, “This updated collection includes all the light and dark theme variants, plus brand-new additions for every colour option.”

Revealing the colour details of all Pixel 10 Mobiles, the tipster specified –

Pixel 10 Colour Variants –

  • Obsidian (Black)
  • Blue (Blue)
  • Iris (Purple)
  • Limoncello (Yellow)

Pixel 10 Pro / XL colour variants –

  • Obsidian (Black)
  • Green (Green)
  • Sterling (Grey)
  • Porcelain (White)

image image image image image

Caption – Examples of possible colour shades Google could use for this year. (Image credit – Google)

“Obsidian” is pretty much a staple at this point and even showed up in the recent “Ask more of your phone” ad shoot video leak

Interestingly, there doesn’t seem to be a typical light or neutral colour like Porcelain this time. It’s possible that “Limoncello,” a light yellow, might take on that role. While it may not be the final name, Google has used Limoncello before as a placeholder, similar to how it once used Lemongrass.

The “Iris” shade would continue the colour story from the Pixel 9a, and “Blue” makes a comeback after being skipped last year. Blue has a long history in the Pixel family, from the limited-edition Really Blue Pixel to Kinda Blue on the Pixel 2, Barely Blue on the Pixel 4a, Bay on the Pixel 8 Pro and the Pixel 8a.

For Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 XL, colours such as “Obsidian” and “Porcelain” are most obvious. The “Sterling” colour mentioned in the leak seems somewhere in the middle of white and black. It could be similar to the Hazel Pixel 9 Pro, which more or less looks like grey colour.

Many tech enthusiasts seemed curious about the “Green” colour mentioned. We are wondering if there is a chance the Pixel 8 Pro’s Mint or Pixel 8a’s Aloe could make a come back.

In any case, these are just leaks as of now. But at least we have a colourful preview of what to expect from Google’s next-gen Pixel phones.

FAQs

Q1. What colour options are expected for the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro/XL?

Answer. The Pixel 10 may come in Obsidian (Black), Blue, Iris (Purple), and Limoncello (Yellow), while the Pixel 10 Pro/XL may feature Obsidian, Green, Sterling (Grey), and Porcelain (White).

Q2. Why is colour expected to be a major differentiator for the Pixel 10 series?

Answer. The new Pixel 10 lineup is expected to look very similar to the current Pixel models, making colour a key way Google sets them apart physically.

Q3. Where did the Pixel 10 colour leak originate?

Answer. The leak was shared by Mystic Leaks on Telegram, who previously leaked Material 3 Expressive redesigns of Google Clock and other details.

Redmi K80 Ultra

The Redmi K80 Ultra, identified by the model number 25060RK16C, has just cleared both MIIT and 3C certifications in China. The 3C listing reveals support for 120W fast charging and it’s expected to pack a massive 7,500mAh battery. While it may ship with a 120W charger in the box, reports suggest the device will likely support 100W charging.

Under the hood, the K80 Ultra is rumoured to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, putting it in the same league as upcoming rivals like the iQOO Neo 10 Pro+ and OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra. It could feature a 6.83-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 50MP triple camera setup housed in a round camera module on the back.

Durability also seems to be a focus with expected IP68/69 ratings and a sturdy metal middle frame. The K80 Ultra may remain exclusive to China, but a global version, possibly branded as the Xiaomi 15T Pro, could arrive in Q3 2025.

Xiaomi Mix Flip 2

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 also appears close to launch, having received 3C certification in China. It’s expected to launch alongside the K80 Ultra and the gaming tablet by the end of June.

The Mix Flip 2 is tipped to be lighter and thinner, measuring 7.6mm when unfolded and weighing about 190 grams. It could feature a 6.85-inch foldable OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

Powering the device is said to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, along with a 5,100mAh battery that supports 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Camera-wise, the Mix Flip 2 is expected to pack an OIS-enabled 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide shooter. Other features may include an IR blaster, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, NFC and an IPX8 rating. A global launch is rumoured for July 2025.

Redmi Gaming Tablet

Xiaomi is also reportedly prepping a Redmi-branded gaming tablet, also set to debut by late June. It’s expected to share several core features with the K80 Ultra including the Dimensity 9400+ processor, bypass charging, and a 7,500mAh battery with 120W charging support.

According to previous reports, the tablet may sport an 8.8-inch LCD screen with a high refresh rate for smooth gameplay. It could also include dual X-axis linear motors, dual USB-C ports, dual stereo speakers, and a metal unibody design built for durability and long gaming sessions.

Expected to be priced competitively, the new Redmi gaming tablet might undercut options from Lenovo and RedMagic, making it a strong value offering for gamers.

This tablet is said to be a major part of Xiaomi’s 2025 tablet expansion and may serve as the successor to the Redmi Pad Pro. Tipster Digital Chat Station suggests a launch window of July or August, in line with Redmi’s typical flagship schedules.

With all three devices aiming for a late June reveal in China, Xiaomi fans have plenty to look forward to.

  • Leaked images suggest the Galaxy Z Fold7 might feature a 200MP main camera.
  • The design remains similar but could include a wider camera module.
  • The Z Fold7 is rumoured to have an ultra-thin 3.9mm profile when unfolded with shrinking inner display bezels.
  • The launch is expected in July 2025 at Samsung’s Unpacked event, alongside the Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE.

A real-life photo claiming to show the back of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 has popped up online, adding to the buzz around its expected July 2025 launch. The Z Fold7 will reportedly debut alongside the Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE at Samsung’s next Unpacked event.

The leaked image, which first surfaced on Weibo before being taken down, shows a vertical triple-camera setup similar to what we’ve seen before. While the design and rounded corners look almost identical to the Z Fold6, the image hints at a bigger change, possibly a 200MP main camera.

This also lines up with earlier rumours and could be a major upgrade over the Z Fold6’s 50MP ISOCELL GN3 sensor.

For reference, Samsung’s 200MP sensors are usually larger (around 1/1.3″ compared to the 1/1.57″ GN3) and the image shows a wider camera module with the flash placed lower, suggesting this upgrade might be legit. That said, it’s also possible the device in the image is a dummy unit.

Galaxy Z Fold7 – Rumours

Other rumoured upgrades include a super slim unfolded profile of just 3.9mm and dimensions of 158.4 x 143.1mm when open (8.9mm when folded). The phone is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip globally, paired with 12GB RAM and a 4,400mAh battery, the same as the Z Fold6.

Display bezels on the inside might also shrink from 1.9mm to just 1mm, giving users a bit more screen space.

Meanwhile, the Z Flip7 is rumoured to use the Exynos 2500 in most regions, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite reserved for markets like North America and China. As for the more affordable Z Flip7 FE, it’s expected to feature the Exynos 2400.

With mass production reportedly underway, excitement is building for what could be a big year for Samsung’s foldables.

FAQS

Q1. What major camera upgrade is expected in the Galaxy Z Fold7?

Answer. Leaked images suggest the Z Fold7 might feature a 200MP main camera, a significant jump from the Z Fold6’s 50MP ISOCELL GN3 sensor.

Q2. How will the design of the Galaxy Z Fold7 change compared to its predecessor?

Answer. The Z Fold7 is rumoured to have an ultra-thin 3.9mm profile when unfolded, with shrinking inner display bezels from 1.9mm to just 1mm for more screen space.

Q3. When is Samsung expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold7?

Answer. The Z Fold7 will reportedly debut at Samsung’s Unpacked event in July 2025, alongside the Z Flip7 and Z Flip7 FE.

Apple Expected To Unveil Big Design Overhaul for iOS 19 and Other OSs at WWDC 2025

0

Highlights

  • Apple is set to unveil a big visual overhaul across iOS 19, watchOS, tvOS, macOS 16 and visionOS at WWDC 2025 starting June 9.

Apple is getting ready to announce a major round of updates at WWDC this year, which kicks off on June 9. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this year’s event will bring major design changes, not just for iOS 19 but also for watchOS, tvOS, macOS 16 and even visionOS.

We already knew that iOS 19 for iPhone and iPad would feature a big visual refresh. Now it looks like Apple is planning to update the design across all its platforms, creating a more unified and modern look.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman says that both the Apple Watch and Apple TV software will get significant redesigns. He also notes that visionOS will receive some UI “adjustments.”

This means Apple is aiming for one consistent design style across all its devices. Expect more transparency, glass-like effects, updated icons and changes to how you navigate inside apps.

Hints of this new look can already be seen in the WWDC 2025 artwork, which shows a shiny, reflective 3D icon of the Apple Park rainbow stage. That same translucent, glassy feel is expected to show up across Apple’s platforms.

While Apple Watch software has seen several updates over the years, Apple TV’s operating system tvOS hasn’t changed much since it launched in 2015. Right now, it still feels visually different from iOS. But that’s about to shift as Apple works to bring all its software into visual alignment. Gurman calls it the biggest OS redesign since iOS 7.

A lot of the upcoming changes are inspired by the sleek interface of visionOS, introduced last year with the Apple Vision Pro. Even so, Apple plans to fine-tune that UI as well to better fit this broader design push.

All these updates will be officially revealed in just two weeks. The WWDC 2025 keynote begins at 10 AM Pacific Time on June 9.
