Apple is reportedly testing a major redesign for next year’s iPhone lineup as the company prepares for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary next year. A new leak has now added more details about the alleged iPhone 19 Pro models and suggested that Apple could introduce a quad-curved display design on its upcoming premium smartphones. Here are more details.
According to a well-known Chinese tipster named Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Apple is currently evaluating prototype devices for its 2027 iPhone series that feature a “quad-curved” display. This means the glass panel curves evenly across all four sides of the device potentially giving the phone a more seamless and futuristic appearance.
The latest leak also claims that the iPhone 19 Pro has entered a production testing phase.
This has sparked speculation that Apple may launch more than one iPhone model featuring the new quad-curved glass design. However, there is also a possibility that the redesign could remain exclusive to a special anniversary edition iPhone.
Although current prototype units are still said to feature a hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera, industry discussions are increasingly focused on Apple’s goal of creating a truly all-screen iPhone for the brand’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
Apple’s Future iPhone Lineup (Speculated)
A separate report hints at Apple’s possible 2027 and 2028 iPhone lineup.
The company is reportedly planning the iPhone 19 Pro and iPhone 19 Pro Max with quad-curved display panels. Another model, which could either be called the iPhone 20 or iPhone XX, is also tipped to feature a quad-curved display along with a complete all-screen design.
Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 19 and a new iPhone Air model are expected to arrive later in spring 2028.
Apple is also reportedly working closely with Samsung on advanced “micro-curved” OLED panels that use Color Filter on Encapsulation (COE) technology. The company’s broader objective is believed to be achieving a bezel-less, all-glass design for at least one iPhone model launching in 2027.
Previous reports have added that Apple is still pushing towards integrating Face ID components and camera sensors underneath the display. If successful, the company could finally introduce a seamless all-screen iPhone design.
