HONOR has officially put an end to recent rumours suggesting it might be exiting the Indian market. The brand has confirmed that it’s here to stay and is fully committed to continuing its operations in India

The confusion started after some unverified posts on social media and reports in the media hinted at HONOR pulling out of India. These claims were quickly dismissed by CP Khandelwal, Brand Custodian of HONOR’s India Business, who took to X (formerly Twitter) to clear the air.

In his statement on X, Khandelwal said, “Let’s set the record straight — ‘HONOR India is here — and thriving.’ We’re all geared up to launch four new smartphones soon.”

The speculation came at a time when a few foreign tech companies are facing tough situations in India. There have also been reports about HONOR’s Indian licensee, HTech, dealing with some operational changes and import-related issues. These factors likely added fuel to the rumours.

Khandelwal’s post was aimed at reassuring customers, partners and stakeholders that HONOR has no plans of leaving. He made it clear that the brand is in it for the long haul and will continue working through any challenges.

Earlier this year, HONOR had teased the launch of the HONOR X9c in India, but the launch didn’t happen. Now, the company has revealed it’s preparing to launch four new smartphones in India soon with launch dates to be announced shortly.

As of now, reports suggest the phone will have a 6.78″ 1.5Hz 120Hz AMOLED screen with up to 4000 nits peak brightness, 3840Hz high-frequency PWM zero-risk dimming, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, IP65M ratings for dust and splash resistance, 5-star comprehensive reliability certified by Switzerland’s SGS, 2m drop resistance, a 108MP maain camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 6600mAh carbon-silicon battery with 66W fast charging.

More confirmed details are expected to emerge closer to the launch.
