Warner Bros. Discovery is set to expand its global reach with the rebranding of HBO Max to ‘Max’ in Latin America and the Caribbean, starting February 27.
This marks the first international rollout of the new platform since its U.S. debut in May 2023.
Originally known as HBO Max, the revamped ‘Max’ platform will now offer a significantly larger streaming library in the Latin American market.
Viewers can expect over 37,000 hours of content, more than double what was previously available on HBO Max in these regions.
The enhanced offering includes an array of content from Warner Bros.
Discovery’s wide network, such as HBO, Warner Bros., DC Universe, Discovery, and more.
Max aims to deliver a more robust and personalized streaming experience, with an improved user interface designed to cater to diverse viewer preferences.
The platform will feature content from various networks and studios under Warner Bros. Discovery’s umbrella, including Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, and Discovery Home & Health.
Additionally, Max secures first-window streaming rights for films from major studios like Sony Pictures and NBCUniversal in Spanish-speaking markets, along with live programming such as award shows and selected sports events.
The platform’s expansion also emphasizes local content, with a variety of original productions developed in collaboration with Latin American creators and artists. This initiative reflects Warner Bros.
Discovery’s commitment to delivering diverse and culturally relevant content to its audience.
At launch, Max will offer three subscription plans, mirroring its U.S. counterpart.
These include the Basic With Ads plan, offering two streams; the Standard plan, featuring two streams and up to 30 downloads for offline viewing; and the Premium plan, which includes four streams, up to 4K resolution, and up to 100 downloads for offline viewing.
Each plan will be available in monthly and discounted annual payment options.
Existing HBO Max subscribers in Latin America, whether signed up directly or through partners, will automatically gain access to Max.
They will retain their current plan features and pricing for a limited period following the launch.
Subscribers who availed of the 50% launch offer billed through HBO Max will continue to enjoy the promotion, provided they adhere to the terms and conditions.
