Do you remember the iconic iMac G4? Well, if you are an Apple fan, there is no value you miss the design languages of a lot of older Apple products.

There was a novelty in earlier designs that most of us today miss in modern tech design philosophy.

It appears Apple too is missing some of its older designs because as per recent reports, we may soon get an iMac-like design in one of the smart home Apple products.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s trusted Apple reporter Mark Gurman shared some exclusive details about the upcoming smart home products by Apple.

According to Gurman, there is a possibility Apple will throwback to the designs of one of its most iconic computers – the iMac G4.

Between all the details Gurman shared, his reveal about the base design was intriguing. Gurman shared, “The screen is positioned at an angle on a small base, making it reminiscent of the circular bottom of the iMac G4 from a couple of decades ago.”

Many Apple fans have been vocal about wanting to see iconic iMac design language to comeback in modern Apple products.

There have been reports about working on a smart home display for a long time now. The company is reportedly on track to ship them by early next year.

Moreover, Gurman revealed that the Apple smart home display will also be the first Apple smart home product with A18 Chip and Apple Intelligence support.

As per Gurman, the Apple smart home display will have a relatively small screen that may be about two iPhones vertically placed side by side. Apple is also expected to make its first smart home product rather affordable to reach the maximum number of households. The aim is to make the upcoming Apple HomeOS accessible to a wide customer base.

Gurman’s report confirms that the Apple homeOS will have apps such as FaceTime, Notes and Calendars. He described the operating system as “well-suited” for video and photo slideshows.

Moreover, Gurman suggested that the base of the home display that will look like the iMac is most likely going to house speakers. This, if true, will turn the smart home display almost into a HomePod with a display.
