Alleged Vivo X500 Series First Look Ahead of September Launch, Design Details Revealed

Highlights

  • Leaked first look of alleged Vivo X500 model shows familiar design with circular camera modules.
  • Vivo X500 series tipped for September China launch with models X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max.
  • X500 Pro may feature triple‑camera setup (50MP main, 50MP ultra‑wide, 64MP telephoto), while Pro Max could add a 200MP periscope.

The Vivo X500 series could be launched in China as early as September with models now slowly appearing in certification databases in China. After the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, the standard Vivo X500 has also received approval from China’s 3C certification platform recently. The Vivo X500 series will succeed the Vivo X300 series and is expected to bring upgraded displays, new chipsets and large batteries.

Amid these developments, a leaked image has provided what could be the first look at the Vivo X500 series smartphones. Popular tipster TechInfo shared the image on X, claiming that the device shown could belong to the Vivo X500 series.

In the leaked images, Taiwanese singer-songwriter and actor Jay Chou is seen on the streets with a device in hand that is alleged to be a Vivo X500 series device in a grey finish. The phone appears to feature a circular camera decoration on the rear continuing the design approach seen on some of Vivo’s previous X-series smartphones.

If the leaked image is accurate, it is clear Vivo is not bringing the next-gen phones with any major design overhaul. The company could retain some of the familiar design elements of the previous generation while making changes to the camera hardware and internal specifications.

A render of the Vivo X500 Pro Max has also surfaced online, giving another early indication of what Vivo’s upcoming flagship lineup could look like.

Vivo X500 Series – What We Know So Far?

Earlier information from tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo revealed some details about the display sizes and rear camera designs of the upcoming phones.

The Vivo X500 Pro is expected to feature a 6.37-inch display, while the larger X500 Pro Max could come with a 6.85-inch screen. Both Pro models are said to have more rounded corners compared with their predecessors.

The standard Vivo X500 is tipped to feature a 6.59-inch display. Unlike the Pro models, which are expected to use large, centrally placed circular camera islands, the standard X500 could have a smaller circular camera protrusion positioned towards the top-left corner of the rear panel.

Previous leaks suggest that the standard X500 will use a 3nm chipset, while the two Pro models could feature 2nm processors. The Pro models are expected to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9600, although this has not been confirmed. Meanwhile, the standard X500 could be powered by the Dimensity 9500. There is also speculation that Vivo could use a Dimensity 9600s if MediaTek launches a slightly upgraded version of the Dimensity 9500.

Vivo X500 Pro is also tipped to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera using a 1/1.28-inch-type LOFIC sensor. It could be paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The telephoto camera is reportedly expected to use a 1/2-inch-type sensor.

The Vivo X500 Pro Max could use the same 50-megapixel main camera as the Pro model but is expected to get a more powerful 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.

Battery capacity could be another major highlight of the Vivo X500 lineup. According to previous rumours, all three models could pack batteries with a capacity of at least 7,000mAh.

Vivo has not yet officially announced the X500 series or confirmed its launch date. However, the growing number of certifications, leaked specifications and the first-look image suggest that the launch could be getting closer. More official details about the Vivo X500 series could emerge in the coming weeks.
