Sony has now rolled out the Android 14 update for the Xperia 1 V as of January 7th.
This update follows the launch of the Xperia 1 V back in September.
However, the first phone to get the update was the Xperia 5 V, Sony’s smaller flagship device, which received the roll-out two months after the 1 V, while the mid-range Xperia 10 V was updated a week after the 1 V.
The Sony Xperia 1 V features a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED HDR Display, offering a 21:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz Motion blur reduction for smoother visuals.
The display supports Creator mode, designed for precise color reproduction similar to Master Monitor, covering DCI-P3 100% and ITU-R BT.2020 color spaces.
Ensuring durability, the screen is safeguarded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The device’s dimensions are 154 x 68 x 8.6mm, and it weighs 182g.
In terms of durability, the Xperia 1 V is water-resistant (IPX5/IPX8) and dustproof (IP6X).
Under the hood, the Xperia 1 V is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 4nm Mobile Platform with an Adreno 740 GPU.
It comes equipped with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB (UFS 4.0) internal storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card.
For photography enthusiasts, the Xperia 1 V boasts a sophisticated camera system: a 52MP primary rear camera with Exmor T sensor and Hybrid OIS/EIS, complemented by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with ZEISS T* coating.
The front camera, capable of 4K video recording, is a 12MP sensor.
The device includes a 3.5 mm audio jack, supports 360 Reality Audio, Dolby Atmos, DSEE Ultimate, and has stereo recording capabilities.
For security, there’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
In terms of connectivity, it supports 5G (sub-6GHz), Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/GLONASS, NFC, and USB 3.2 Type-C, providing a wide range of connectivity options.
The Xperia 1 V is powered by a 5000mAh battery, which supports 30W fast charging, Xperia Adaptive Charging, Qi Wireless charging, and a Battery Share function.
