Xiaomi is gearing up for a big launch event in China on June 26, where the much-anticipated second-generation flip-style foldable from the brand will be launched. Yes, we are talking about Xiaomi Mix Flip 2! With no Mix Fold 5 expected this year, the Flip 2 becomes Xiaomi’s only foldable for 2025. Here’s a quick recap of everything we know about the phone based on official teasers and leaks.
The Mix Flip 2 sticks to the design language of the original with a vertical camera layout and slim bezels on the cover screen. It’ll be available in green, gold, and purple colours.

The phone is expected to be lighter (around 190g) and thinner (7.6mm unfolded) with a high-strength hinge and materials tested to military-grade durability standards. It’s also IPX8 rated, meaning it can handle water but isn’t dustproof.
One of the Flip 2’s standout features is its 5,100mAh battery, which would make it the largest in its class. For context, Samsung’s Z Flip 5 has just 3,700mAh. Xiaomi also adds 67W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, confirmed by Chinese certification listings.
Under the hood, the Mix Flip 2 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite”, just like what we expect on other high-end foldables like the Honor Magic V5.

Recently leaked Benchmark scores of 2835 for single-core and 8550 for multi-core suggest a solid upgrade from last year. It’s expected to ship with at least 12GB RAM, Android 15, and Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2.0.
The inner screen is a 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, making it one of the taller flip phones out there, great for scroll-heavy apps. The outer screen is getting a size bump too, now 4.01 inches with curved edges, offering more room for widgets, notifications, and quick tasks.
The Mix Flip 2 is expected to carry a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. Leica’s branding returns too, though Xiaomi usually handles the tuning itself. Still, the collaboration adds premium appeal in a competitive space.
Other handy features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, and an IR blaster, small additions that fans will appreciate. With HyperOS 2.0, Xiaomi also aims to offer better device integration across its ecosystem, including tablets and smart home products.
Interestingly, Xiaomi has no plans for a Mix Fold 5 this year. That leaves the Mix Flip 2 as the only foldable from the company in 2025. Whether that’s due to strategy, sales, or something else is unclear, but it’s a major shift as rivals like Samsung and Honor continue to offer both Flip and Fold options.
The Mix Flip 2 will debut in China on June 26, alongside the Redmi K80 Ultra and two new tablets. A global launch is expected in July, based on Xiaomi’s usual release pattern. However, Xiaomi’s foldables usually get restricted to the Chinese market due to the lack of software support or updates. This is one aspect where Xiaomi’s foldables haven’t been able to compete with other brands releasing foldables at regular intervals like Samsung or Google.
Meanwhile, the K80 Ultra might remain exclusive to China or arrive globally later as the Xiaomi 15T Pro.
