Xiaomi has expanded its smartwatch portfolio with the launch of the Xiaomi Watch S5 in China. The latest wearable from the brand comes in multiple variants including Bluetooth-only and cellular-enabled models. The smartwatch is offered in five colour options and brings a mix of premium design and advanced health tracking features. Here are more details.
The Xiaomi Watch S5 is priced starting at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs. 16,000) for the Bluetooth-only Classic variant. The Fashion model with Bluetooth connectivity is priced at CNY 1,399 (around Rs. 19,000), while the eSIM variant with a leather strap is also available at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 19,000).
The smartwatch is currently on sale in China through Xiaomi’s online store.
In terms of colour options, the Classic model is available in Black and White, while the Fashion variant comes in Forged Carbon and Midnight Blue shades. The eSIM model, on the other hand, is offered in a single Beige colour.
The Xiaomi Watch S5 features a 1.48-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 480×480 pixels, offering a peak brightness of up to 2,500 nits and a pixel density of 323 ppi. The smartwatch is compatible with devices running Android 8 or later and iOS 14 or newer versions.
In terms of design, the smartwatch features a round dial with a crown and a navigation button on the right side. It also includes a built-in microphone and speaker. The Watch S5 measures 46x46x10.99mm and weighs approximately 46 grams.
It supports more than 150 sports modes including popular activities such as cycling, swimming, and running, along with auto workout detection. For health tracking, the Watch S5 includes features like a calorie counter, step tracking, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, blood pressure monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, fall detection, and menstrual cycle tracking. It also provides insights into breathing patterns during sleep.
The smartwatch is equipped with a range of sensors including a heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, barometric pressure sensor, and an ambient light sensor.
Backed by an 815mAh battery, the Xiaomi Watch S5 is claimed to deliver up to 21 days of battery life under typical usage, around 14 days with regular health monitoring, and up to 9 days when the always-on display (AOD) feature is enabled. The device also carries a 5ATM water resistance rating.
