Xiaomi new HyperOS UI had been revealed alongside the company’s 14 series of smartphones which were the first to be equipped with the innovative platform.
Now Xiaomi is looking to bring the HyperOS update to a broader range of devices shortly.
A selected array of devices is forming the vanguard of Xiaomi’s global strategy for the dissemination of HyperOS.
The notable aspect of this new interface is that it is grounded in Android 14, suggesting a simultaneous launch with Google’s upcoming operating system version.
Users already on the Android 14 beta using MIUI 14 are poised to receive the stable Android 14 update before the shift to HyperOS.
Reports from Gsmchina reveal that at least nine Xiaomi smartphone models are earmarked in the international testing phase of HyperOS.
Currently, the list exclusively comprises Xiaomi branded phones, leaving out Redmi and POCO models.
Nonetheless, given the historical trend of updates, there’s optimism that these models may also benefit from the new operating system in due course.
A close look at the ongoing rollout strategy of Xiaomi’s HyperOS includes these models:
As mentioned, these devices are currently undergoing internal trials of the HyperOS, indicating that a public release is on the horizon.
While the official timeline indicates a Q1 2024 release, there are hints that the update may arrive earlier, potentially by the close of the current year.
HyperOS is Xiaomi’s latest user interface that builds on the upcoming Android 14 platform. It represents an integration of Xiaomi’s design philosophy with the newest features and security enhancements of Android’s latest version. As such, devices on the Android 14 beta, particularly those with MIUI 14, are expected to transition seamlessly to the stable release of HyperOS.
According to the rollout roadmap, Xiaomi’s HyperOS update will be initially tested and launched on a select group of smartphones. This includes the Xiaomi 13 series (standard, Pro, Ultra, and T variants), the 12T and 12T Pro models, the 11T, and the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 6.
While the current testing phase includes Xiaomi branded phones, the historical trend of how updates are managed suggests that Redmi and POCO devices could also receive HyperOS. Given their shared architecture with Xiaomi models, it’s likely that these devices will follow in the update path in the future.
Xiaomi’s official schedule points to a Q1 2024 release for HyperOS. However, the ongoing internal tests hint at the possibility of an earlier rollout. Optimistically, the update could be made available to the public as early as the end of the current year.
