The Xiaomi 18 series is still months away from launch. However, fresh leaks have already started revealing what the company may be planning for its next-generation flagship smartphones. Recent information shared by Chinese tipsters points to notable upgrades in areas such as display technology, privacy features, camera hardware and software.
At the same time, new details about Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship tablet lineup have also emerged. The Xiaomi Pad 9 series related recent discovery within HyperOS code has now shed light on one of its key specifications. Here’s more on recent updates.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Could Focus on Privacy-Centric Display Technology
According to reports, Xiaomi is currently testing a flagship Pro smartphone featuring a new-generation 2K display paired with built-in privacy protection technology. The reported feature is designed to combine hardware and software solutions that make it difficult for people nearby to view content displayed on the screen.
The claim is reported by tipsters Digital Chat Station and Smart Pikachu on Weibo.
Such a feature could provide an added layer of security for sensitive information such as passwords, messages, banking details, and personal data. While the leaks do not explicitly mention the device name, industry speculation suggests that the technology could debut on the Xiaomi 18 Pro.
More Xiaomi 18 Series Details Leak Online

Smart Pikachu recently claimed that the Xiaomi 18 lineup is currently on track for a September launch. The upcoming flagship family is said to continue Xiaomi’s secondary rear display concept while introducing a customised 200-megapixel LOFIC primary camera.
The devices are also expected to feature screens with larger corner radii, effective 2K resolution, and higher peak brightness levels compared to the previous generation.
On the software front, the Xiaomi 18 series is tipped to ship with HyperOS 4. Leaks suggest that the new software version could bring a refreshed visual design inspired by light-based effects alongwith expanded artificial intelligence integration throughout the system and applications. Recent reports have also indicated that the lineup may include a dedicated AI button for quick access to AI-powered features.
As of now, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any of these specifications or features.
Xiaomi Pad 9 Battery Capacity Revealed Through HyperOS Code
Separate information regarding Xiaomi’s next flagship tablet series has emerged through findings shared by tipster named Kacper Skrzypek on X. After examining HyperOS code, the tipster reportedly uncovered details about the standard Xiaomi Pad 9.
According to the findings, the tablet carries model numbers M656BA, 26103RP65G, and 26103RP65I. The “2610″ sequence within the model number is believed to indicate a possible October launch timeframe for the device.

The HyperOS code also reportedly reveals that the Xiaomi Pad 9 will feature a 9,720mAh battery. This would represent an increase over the 9,200mAh battery found in the current-generation Xiaomi Pad 8.
The tablet is also rumoured to retain the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset used by its predecessor, although no official confirmation has been provided.
Xiaomi Pad 9 Series Launch Timeline Remains Unclear
Previous reports from December suggested that the Xiaomi Pad 9 would receive a broader international rollout. However, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro may reportedly skip launch in India.
The Pro variant is said to be in development with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor positioning it as the more powerful option within the lineup.
While the model numbering hints at an October debut, there remains a possibility that Xiaomi could unveil the Pad 9 series earlier in its home market.
Since current rumours indicate that the Xiaomi 18 family could launch in China this September, there is a chance that the Xiaomi Pad 9 series may also be announced at the same event. Anyhow, more details about both the smartphones and tablets are expected to surface in the coming weeks.
