According to Louise O’Connor, Executive Producer, Rare, they hope to increase participation of women in the gaming industry through their mentoring initiative.

Despite efforts by Women in Games and other organizations advocating for gender equity in the industry, it continues to face gender imbalance. Reports claim that women candidates represent only 24% of the total workforce.

Career development, networking opportunities, mentoring and more is offered by the ‘Women in Gaming’ group at Xbox to encourage retention of women in the industry.
