The instant messaging app WhatsApp is expected to announce a new feature very soon. According to the latest update, WhatsApp is working on a feature called companion mode. This upcoming feature will allow users to sync chat history between multiple devices. It is believed that WhatsApp users will be able to link a secondary mobile device to their WhatsApp account without having an active Internet.

Users are advised not to get confused between WhatsApp’s new feature and its multi-device support. These two are not the same. The multi-device feature allows users to link four different devices to one single account and does not let users link two smartphones to one account.

According to Wabetainfo, after the introduction of the new feature, currently under development, it will be easier for users to link a second phone to their WhatsApp account. This means users can access their WhatsApp account on two phones. Currently, users cannot access their WhatsApp accounts on two smartphones. However, they can access their accounts from the desktop, tabs, and other devices.

Other upcoming features of WhatsApp
