Vivo is preparing to expand its Y-series smartphone lineup with the launch of the Vivo Y600 Turbo on May 25. The upcoming smartphone has already started appearing in official teasers with an early glimpse at its design and colour options ahead of the launch. Here’s what we know about the upcoming model so far.
Official teaser posters (via Gizmochina) confirm that the Vivo Y600 Turbo will be available in white and pink colour options. According to leaks and rumours, the smartphone could become Vivo’s first handset to offer a 165Hz refresh rate display.
The device is expected to feature a large 6.83-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution, which could deliver smoother visuals and an improved gaming experience.
To recall, Vivo recently introduced the Vivo Y600 Pro featuring a massive 10,200mAh battery. Now, reports suggest the upcoming Y600 Turbo is also expected to focus heavily on performance and battery life.
The smartphone may also pack a huge 9,020mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging. Under the hood, the Vivo Y600 Turbo is tipped to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset.
For photography, the handset is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary sensor along with a 2-megapixel secondary camera. On the front, the smartphone could include a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
The phone is also expected to run Android 16 with OriginOS 6 layered on top. It may further feature LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage although Vivo has not officially confirmed the storage configurations yet.
Certain reports have claimed that the Vivo Y600 Turbo may essentially be a rebranded version of the iQOO Z11.
We couldn’t verify this claim but notably, iQOO Z11 was launched in China earlier this year in March. It debuted at a starting price of 2,299 Yuan (roughly $340) for the 8GB + 256GB model.
Based on current leaks, the Vivo Y600 Turbo is expected to launch in China with similar pricing.
Meanwhile, Vivo is also gearing up to unveil the Vivo S60 series in China on May 29. The upcoming lineup is expected to include the Vivo S60 and Vivo S60 Vitality Edition.
