Vivo’s upcoming X500 smartphone lineup continues to appear in leaks ahead of its expected debut later this year. After reports revealed the existence of three X500 series smartphones through the IMEI database, a new report from SmartPrix has now confirmed the presence of another model in the lineup. At the same time, tipster Digital Chat Station has shared fresh details regarding the camera hardware of the upcoming Vivo X500 series.
According to the latest report, the Vivo X500 Pro Max branding has now appeared on the IMEI database confirming the existence of a fourth model in the series.
The naming suggests that the X500 Pro Max will become Vivo’s most premium flagship smartphone this year, at least until the rumoured Vivo X500 Ultra arrives in the first half of 2027.
The report also notes that the Vivo X500e, Vivo X500, and Vivo X500 Pro have already been spotted on the IMEI platform. While the Vivo X500 series is expected to launch in September this year, it remains unclear whether Vivo plans to unveil all four smartphones together at the same event.
Previous leaks have suggested that the Vivo X500 Pro Max could feature a large 6.9-inch 2K AMOLED display. The smartphone is also expected to be powered by a Dimensity 9600-series chipset. In terms of battery, the device may pack a battery with around 7,000mAh capacity and could support both 100W wired charging and 100W wireless charging.
Separately, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed new details about the camera systems being tested for the Vivo X500 lineup. According to the leak, Vivo is currently focusing heavily on imaging improvements for the upcoming series.
The tipster claims that three models in the Dimensity-powered X500 lineup are currently being tested with 50-megapixel primary cameras using ultra-large 1/1.28-inch sensors. Other reports suggest that Vivo may use Sony’s upcoming LYT-838 camera sensor for these devices.
The leak further states that the higher-end Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max variants that are referred to as the “big cup” and “extra-big cup” are expected to feature LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integrator Capacitor) sensor technology.
This sensor technology is designed to significantly improve dynamic range while reducing overexposure issues in difficult lighting environments. It will potentially allow the X500 Pro and Pro Max to deliver improved photography performance in high-contrast scenes.
