Vivo’s upcoming X300 series has started appearing in rumours and leaks ahead of its official launch. A fresh leak from trusted tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo revealed early camera and design details of what seems to be Vivo’s next imaging-focused flagship. Here’s a quick roundup of what we know.
According to the leak, the new Vivo flagship will feature a 200MP 1/1.4-inch main camera, paired with a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP IMX882 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Vivo is also said to be working on a new prism-based optical stabilisation system, which could help improve focusing and reduce blur in tricky lighting.
This camera setup suggests that Vivo is continuing to push boundaries in mobile photography, something it’s already known for in the flagship space.
The Vivo X300 is also expected to come with a 6.3-inch display, making it one of the smallest Vivo flagships in recent years. Despite its compact size, the phone isn’t skimping on premium features. The leak suggests it will include –
All of this makes it clear that the X300 is being positioned as a top-tier device, just in a smaller body.
The Vivo X300 is expected to launch in China as early as September, and if the leaks are accurate, it could bring major upgrades over its predecessor, the X200.
The Vivo X200 was launched in October last year and had a 6.67-inch curved display, a 50MP VCS main camera, and a 5800mAh battery with 90W fast charging. The shift to a 200MP main sensor alone shows how seriously Vivo is stepping up its camera game.
In a separate leak, Digital Chat Station also mentioned that Vivo is now bringing the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor to the main camera in its new flagships. Previously, the brand used 200MP sensors for periscope cameras in models like the X100 Ultra and X200 Pro.
The HP9 sensor supports 8K at 30fps, 4K at 120fps, and uses Tetrapixel technology to adjust pixel size depending on lighting conditions. This move could influence other brands to switch to ultra-high-resolution sensors in their future flagships too.
