Early details about the Redmi Turbo 5 have surfaced online, giving us a first look at what to expect from Xiaomi’s upcoming mid-range phone. The leak comes from well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared key specs and design features on Weibo.
While the Turbo 5 series is expected to launch in China only, Xiaomi may rebrand the phones for global markets. The Redmi Turbo 5 could be launched internationally as the Poco X8 Pro, while the higher-end Turbo 5 Pro might arrive globally as the Poco F8.
According to the leak, the Redmi Turbo 5 is currently being tested with a 6.6-inch display offering a 1.5K resolution. The screen will reportedly feature a “large R-angle,” a design choice that gives the display gently rounded corners to improve grip and comfort.
While it’s slightly smaller than the 6.67-inch panel on the Turbo 4, the ergonomic upgrades could make it feel better in hand.
One major change might be in the build quality. The Turbo 5 could come with a metal middle frame, replacing the plastic used in its predecessor. This would give the phone a more premium and sturdy feel, something that’s not common in the mid-range category.
Battery design is also a big focus. The previous Turbo 4 packed a large 6,550mAh battery with 90W fast charging. The Turbo 5 is expected to keep a large battery but with a thinner form factor, showing Xiaomi’s efforts to strike a balance between power and portability.
The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, on the other hand, is tipped to feature a massive 8,000mAh+ battery, making it ideal for power users or gamers who need all-day battery life and then some.
In terms of launch timeline, the Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to debut in early 2026, while the Turbo 5 Pro may launch sometime in Q2 2026. Global versions under the Poco brand could follow shortly after.
