Vivo X Fold 6 foldable smartphone was recently launched in China at a starting price of 7,999 yuan (around $1,175) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. Now, Vivo has officially disclosed the repair part pricing for the X Fold 6 on its website. It gives users a clear idea of how much repairs could cost if the device is damaged.
As is the case with most foldable smartphones, the internal folding display is the costliest component to replace. Vivo has priced the complete inner display at 3,780 yuan (around $556). However, the company is offering a 25 percent discount on the first screen replacement reducing the price to 2,835 yuan (around $417).
Users who opt for a reserved or pre-booked repair can get the same component replaced for 3,380 yuan (around $497). If only the inner display panel requires replacement instead of the complete assembly, the repair cost drops to 1,899 yuan (around $279).
The external display is considerably cheaper to repair. Replacing the outer screen glass costs 299 yuan (around $44), while the complete external display assembly is priced at 920 yuan (around $135). Vivo also offers a reserved repair option for the outer display at 620 yuan (around $91).
Battery replacement is comparatively affordable with Vivo charging 259 yuan (around $38) for a new battery.
Repair costs for the camera modules vary depending on the sensor. Replacing the front-facing camera costs 105 yuan (around $15), while the rear ultra-wide camera is priced at 110 yuan (around $16). The rear periscope telephoto camera replacement costs 290 yuan (around $43), whereas the 200MP main rear camera is the most expensive camera component at 390 yuan (around $57).
The cost of replacing the motherboard depends on the storage variant of the Vivo X Fold 6.
The 12GB + 256GB model requires 3,700 yuan (around $544) for a motherboard replacement. The 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at 4,200 yuan (around $617), while the 16GB + 512GB version costs 4,700 yuan (around $691). Users of the top-end 16GB + 1TB model will need to pay 5,200 yuan (around $764) for a new motherboard.
Vivo has also listed the official charger set at 199 yuan (around $29).
It is worth noting that all of the prices listed above are only for replacement parts. For devices that are out of warranty, Vivo charges an additional labor fee of 50 yuan for each repair visit. If multiple components are replaced during the same service session, customers only need to pay the labor fee once.
