Some new details about Vivo’s upcoming foldable smartphones, the Vivo X Fold 3 and Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, have surfaced.
A post by the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo has shed light on the chipsets that these devices are expected to feature.
The Vivo X Fold 3 series is poised to make a significant leap in performance with the introduction of advanced Qualcomm chipsets.
The standard X Fold 3 model is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
This chipset, fabricated using TSMC’s 4nm process, boasts an impressive array of cores: one Cortex X3 at 3.2GHz, two Cortex A715 cores at 2.8GHz, three Cortex A510 cores at 2.0GHz, and an Adreno 740 GPU.
On the other hand, the X Fold 3 Pro is rumoured to elevate performance even further with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
This chipset features a Cortex X4 core at 3.3GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores at 3.15GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.96GHz, two Cortex-A520 cores at 2.26GHz, and an Adreno 750 GPU.
Contrary to earlier speculations suggesting that both models would sport the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, this new information clarifies the distinction between the two models in terms of processing power.
As for storage and memory, the X Fold 3 Pro is rumoured to offer up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
This indicates a significant boost in the device’s multitasking and data transfer capabilities.
In terms of display, the Pro model is expected to feature an inner screen with a 2K resolution.
Both models are likely to include foldable AMOLED displays equipped with LTPO technology and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, rumours suggest the incorporation of ultrasonic fingerprint scanners for enhanced security.
The camera setup of these smartphones is anticipated to be headlined by a 50MP primary camera with OIS, pointing towards high-quality imaging capabilities.
In related news, Vivo is also reportedly working on the Vivo Pad 3 tablet, which is expected to come in OLED and LCD variants.
The tablet will likely be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC and could be launching alongside the X Fold 3 series and the Vivo X100 Pro+.
