Vivo had launched the Vivo S1 followed by the Vivo S1 Pro with both devices focusing on premium design and camera features in the mid-range category. Well-knonw Indian tipster Abhishek Yadav on X claims that Vivo is preparing to launch new Vivo S2 series smartphones in India. Although detailed specifications and chipset information are still under wraps.

As per the leaked information, the upcoming Vivo S2 lineup is expected to target the mid-range smartphone segment. If the report turns out to be accurate, this would mark the return of the Vivo S series in India after nearly seven years.

The Vivo S1 launched in India back in 2019 at a starting price of ₹17,990. It featured 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display and an optical in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone was powered by the MediaTek Helio P65 chipset and packed a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W charging.

It also featured a 32-megapixel front-facing camera aimed at selfie-focused users.

The company later even expanded the lineup with the Vivo S1 Pro. The smartphone arrived with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 processor and featured a more premium build with a glass back and aluminium frame. The device also included a 48-megapixel quad rear camera setup while retaining the AMOLED display and in-display fingerprint scanner from the standard Vivo S1.
