According to the leaked packaging image, the new base model M4 MacBook Pro will come with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.  

Although this matches with earlier reports that all M4 Macs would start at 16GB RAM, we suggest this information should be viewed with a reminder that the image source isn’t verified.

The leaked packaging image also indicates that the M4 MacBook Pro will feature a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. If true, this will be an upgrade from the current M3 model. It right now has an 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU.

A notable change is that the M4 model could have three Thunderbolt 4 ports. In comparison, the base base M3 MacBook Pro model only has two such ports.

Moreover, the mention of “SPB” with “SPB/10C CPU/10C GPU/16GB/512GB” on the leaked packaging image also caught attention. As per speculations, it might stand for Space Black, which suggests the base model could come in this colour. Last year, the base model was in the Space Gray colour option.

The packaging image shows a QR code for more information and references to “Apple ID” on the packaging. Apple has started doing this only with the iPhone 16 lineup.
